Swansea v West Ham Predictions

Following a dreadful run of form over the last couple of months, time officially ran out for Gary Monk last week and Swansea City head into the festive period searching for a new manager and a first win in seven. Despite their poor run, The Swans should certainly count themselves unlucky not to have taken at least a point from their away clash at Manchester City last weekend. Bafetimbi Gomis' powerful finish looked to have snatched a point for the Welsh side, only for City to fluke a winner out of nowhere. It never rains but it pours.

Heading into the clash with The Hammers and Swansea will have to stop the rot on home soil if they are to make any inroads on the top half of the table. The South Wales side have not won in their last six straight matches at The Liberty and have only managed to score four goals during this weekend.

Opponents West Ham also started the season strongly but have fallen away in recent weeks. As many will remember, Slaven Bilic's men won consecutive matches away at Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City in a run that saw them as high as the Champions League places. The Hammers have now not won in their last six matches and taken only one point from their last three away from home.

Perhaps the biggest worry for Bilic has been the injuries to key players that have begun to stack up over the last few weeks. Up until his injury, Dimitri Payet was arguably they player of the season, but he is out for several more weeks and also joined on the sidelines by Winston Reid and now Andy Carroll ahead of their clash with Swansea.

Heading into the match and the best odds for Swansea v West Ham, Swansea are slight favourites at a best price of 23/20. West Ham can be backed at slightly longer odds of 23/10, with the draw on offer at 5/2.

With both sides in such I different form, it's difficult to pick a winner this weekend for my Premier League prediction. West Ham have drawn four of their last six, though, which certainly highlights the appeal of the draw. Nevertheless, with West Ham's injuries worries, I fancy Swansea to pinch this one on Sunday. They played well against City last weekend and were incredibly unlucky to lose the match.

Therefore back The Swans to win at 23/20 with Bet Victor for my first Swansea v West Ham prediction, or if you haven’t got a Betfair account yet, you can register and get a massive 7/1 for Swansea to win.

For my next football tip I’m moving over to the goalscoring market and I fancy Bafetimbi Gomis to get onto the scoresheet following his goal last week. The French international tends to score a lot of his goals in clusters and he's well-priced at 9/5 with Betfair to score anytime in the match.

My second Swansea City v West Ham betting tip is from the first goalscorer market and I’m backing Befetimbi Gomes to score.

Finally for a bit of a longshot in the cards market and Jonjo Shelvey has managed to get himself booked in two of his last three home games and never seems too far away from a silly challenge or two.

With this in mind, my third Premier League prediction for Swansea v West Ham is to have a punt on Shelvey to get the first card of the match at 10/1 with Paddy Power
