Leicester v Spurs

So far at least, the Ranieri has proved to be a major hit with players and fans alike.  Following on from Pearson’s principle of free-flowing, attacking football, the Leicester players have instantly taken to Ranieri and have recorded two wins from two and sit second in the table after stunning wins over Sunderland and West Ham. In both of these games, chances for each team were plentiful with a total of nine goals scored.

 

Spurs failed to score at Old Trafford and were felled by a single Kyle Walker own goal. They followed this up with a 2-2 draw with Stoke after carelessly letting a two-goal lead slip from their grasp with some traditionally Spurs-like defending. Facing Leicester at the King Power Stadium will be a tough task for Pochettino’s men given both side’s contrasting form. One thing is nigh on certain; there will be a hatful of chances, and inevitably a shedload of goals. This game is my top pick for BTTS on Saturday.

 

Sunderland v Swansea

The only dilemma I have with this fixture is; will Sunderland score? Advocaat’s side is beyond shambolic in defence at the moment, and given Swansea’s blistering start to the season, the Welsh side will be odds on to score first against a Sunderland team who have conceded seven goals in their opening two Premier League matches.  Despite their rear-guard problems, Sunderland haven’t been overtly terrible in attack. They have scored three goals so far and look to have at least some modicum of intent when faced with the prospect of their opponent’s goal.

 

Swansea have drawn 2-2 with Champions Chelsea, and followed this up with a comfortable 2-0 win over Newcastle. Swansea will almost certainly win the game, but I feel Sunderland need a performance, else. Both teams to score is a very likely possibility with Sunderland v Swansea.

 

Burnley v Brentford

Fresh from their 4-2 victory over Bristol City, Brentford travel north to face a stuttering Burnley side who lost 2-0 to Ipswich midweek. Brentford have started this campaign how they finished their last, gaining a creditable 2-2 draw with current Championship table toppers Ipswich as well as a highly attacking 4-2 away win over newly promoted Bristol City.

 

Two of Burnley’s three outings have ended with both teams scoring this season, whilst Brentford’s two games have amassed a total of 10 goals. Brentford’s two League games were sandwiched between a ridiculous 4-0 drubbing in the League Cup to lowly Oxford United. Whilst proficient in attack, Brentford are still relatively naïve in defence and I think Burnley will be able to notch a few against them on Saturday.  However, The Bees’ proficient attack means that both teams are extremely likely to score in this encounter. Definitely another to stick on your BTTS coupon.

 

Alloa v Raith Rovers

 

To finish our Saturday both teams to score betting tip, we have a clash from the Scottish Championship. Alloa currently sit bottom of the League after being hammered 5-1 by top side Rangers and 3-1 by second side Queen of the South. Raith Rovers currently sit ffith with three points to their name. Rovers have lost their last two games, 1-0 to Falkirk in the League and 3-0 to lowly Stenhousemuir in the Scottish League Cup. It’s safe to say that the clash between Alloa and Raith isn’t exactly a clash of the titans, but when looking for BTTS fixtures, this one stood out as a clear favourite.

 

Alloa have a shoddy defence, but managed to score against the two best teams in the League. Whereas, Raith are a mediocre and inconsistent side with a moderate scoring record and a penchant for conceding sloppy goals.
