The last two meetings between the two sides have finished 1-1, but I see this game taking a different course. Man City looked full of attacking intent and their passing was immaculate throughout their match against The Baggies. Chelsea, by contrast, looked jaded, and were arguably outplayed by an inspired Swansea side.

 

Swansea had more shots, more shots on target, and more corners than Chelsea, and they could very well have nicked the game but for some smart goalkeeping by second choice stopper Asmir Begovic.

 

I have a sneaking suspicion that Mourinho will set his team up to contain City’s attacking players. Silva will be man marked, Aguero, if fit to start, will be harried and harangued by John Terry, and I feel it will be a case of Mourinho once again parking the bus to avoid a defeat against a big team.

 

Despite scoring twice, Mourinho’s side looked relatively short of inspiration in attack against Swansea, and I feel that this will once again prove their downfall against City. Under the management of the Portuguese, Chelsea’s record against the big teams is almost immaculate, but I feel that their time has come to surrender this good run.
