Swansea make the 2 and a half hour trip to Yeovil to continue their pre-season journey following a recent tour of Holland.

The tour of Holland was a successful one for the Swans where they had a perfect set of results, including beating FC Gravenzande 2-0, Excelsio Maassluis 5-1, Haaglandia 10-0 and finally beating Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag 1-0. Perhaps the first 3 of those matches are much to shout about as they are lowly ranked sides in comparison to Premiership side Swansea, however they dug in deep against a side that last season held Ajax to draw away from home and also beat Feyenoord on home soil.
It was a 21st minute goal from Wayne Routledge that separated the two sides, but the most promising news that came from this friendly for Swans fans was that club record signing Wilfried Bony came on at half time and showed signs of exactly why Laudrup has chosen him to help Swansea in the Premiership next season. It took a couple of decent saves from Ado Den Haags goalkeeper to deny him a first goal for the Welsh side.
Yeovil have also had a busy pre-season campaign so far including putting 7 past Weymouth in a 7-0 victory before beating Poole Town 3-1. They then headed to Portugal where they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sporting Club Farense, however this included a good performance from new loan signing Michael Ngoo.
They returned back to England and headed to Torquay where they lost 2-0 again, this time it was two goals inside the last 10 minutes that beat Yeovil and caused them to suffer another pre-season friendly defeat.
It is difficult to predict what side Swansea Michael Laudrup will pick here although we are likely to see two different teams either half, however many players will be looking to be involved with Swansea’s Europa League campaign and they will be expected to put in a good performance to prove themselves ahead of that. Yeovil I would expect will be more likely to field a strong starting 11 ahead of life in the Championship next season to give the players experience against a strong and physical Swansea side. Only Bet365 have released odds on this fixture at the moment and they go 4/5 for a Swansea victory, 13/5 for a Yeovil win and 13/5 that the game is drawn.
I think the draw looks the most likely outcome here, both sides have had quite a long pre-season so far and Yeovil especially will be looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd again. That said, Swansea are the superior side here but I expected they will use this friendly to make changes to the side as the game progresses and less experienced players could be on show.
