Despite topping their group with resounding success among the Champions League thus far, Arsene Wenger and his determined Gunners have seemingly proven unable to land a relatively straightforward round-of-16 fixture once again this season – as none other than Bayern Munch currently lie in wait.
The Bavarians only managed to secure a second place finish among their respective group this time around, ultimately falling behind a notoriously tricky Atletico Madrid side in the process. Arsenal therefore have it all to do if they really want to progress among the Champions League this term, and maybe even go on to win the illustrious European competition when all is said and done.
Bayern Munich clearly represent rather formidable opposition within the grand scheme of things…
We've uncovered footage from inside Arsenal HQ after they drew Bayern Munich. pic.twitter.com/zjmftzw1r8

…and although many are in-fact looking forward to this game with great anticipation…
Might get a Bayern season ticket next year. They’re about £2300 cheaper and I’ll still get to see Arsenal.

…this fixture does indeed feel a little too familiar at the end of the day…
Wont be long when Arsenal start drawing Bayern Munich even in FA cup and EFL cup

Yet perhaps the Gunners don’t have it all to fear in regards to the usually formidable Bayern Munich…
Can't believe Arsenal have got Bayern again! To be fair, if there was ever a year to beat them it would be now. Not at their best. #UCLdraw

…Arsenal have certainly been in fine form this season after all…
Gooners to beat Bayern.
It's the 4th time they've met in the KO stages and they've lost 3 times.
But nobody does 4th better than Arsenal.— TriggeRed. (@jonmikesav8) December 12, 2016
This has been a year of great surprises so far of course…
Leicester won the league
Brexit happened
Donald Trump was elected US PresidentTime for Arsenal to knock out Bayern Munich. #Believe.

…but as the Gunners won't be seen as the clear favourites ahead of the highly anticipated fixture…
Arsenal finish 1st and get Bayern, Man City finish 2nd and get Monaco. How does that work?

…maybe Bayern Munich are right to be confident on this one!
