Who Will Replace Roy Hodgson as the next England Manager after Euro 2016?

Roy Hodgson’s contract runs out after Euro 2016, and depending on results, England could well be looking for a new manager. Of course, if the Three Lions have a successful campaign the FA may want to keep him on, but at 68, he’s no spring chicken and it’s only a matter of time before a new man takes the helm.

Post-Euros could be the perfect time. England have a new squad to play with, full of young, raw talent and a quality young manager to come in could be perfect. Naturally they’ll be the debate as to whether the FA appoint an English manager or from abroad, but regardless we take a look at three men who could be in with a good chance of taking on the hardest job in football.

Gary Neville

England manger Gary Neville

Gary Neville is already a crucial part of the England set-up. He’s already an assistant with the nation and is the man who connects both the players and the manager. He’s well respected in the game and has become renowned for his tactical knowhow as a pundit on Sky Sports.

The players seem to love him in the England setup and bookmakers have him down as the man to step up to the job. The FA will be wary after his disastrous spell as Valencia manager, and he could need a few more stepping stones before taking the job. But he’s a candidate, without a doubt, and the FA could look to a younger man this time around.

Best odds for Gary Neville to be next England manager – 8/1 with Bet Victor.

Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rogers next England manager

It’s a bit of a surprise Brendan Rodgers has been out of a managerial job for so long, and England could come calling if nobody gets to him first.

The Northern Irishman left Liverpool back in October last year and has recently been rumoured for the Celtic job. However, no job gets bigger than England and he could be perfect for the role. He’s renowned for his stylish football and generally produces the type of football the Three Lions wish to play.

Best odds for Brendan Rogers to be next England manager – 11/1 at 888Sport.

Jose Mourinho

Mourinho next England manager

There’s been a will he-won’t he back and forth going on for months now as to whether he’ll get the Manchester United job. If he doesn’t, England could be the ideal job for him. There’s no doubt he’ll want it. He’s often said he’d like to manage internationally and has spoken of his desire before of taking on the role.

If he’s still out of a job in the summer, England would be daft not to employ the man, but with Manchester United and potentially even PSG coming calling, they’ll have to be quick.

Best odds for Mourinho to be next England manager – 14/1 with 888Sport.
