After a flurry of midweek football the Premier League is shaping up nicely at both ends of the table. Manchester United took another step towards the title with a point at West Ham, Chelsea thrashed Fulham to return to third place and Wigan’s defeat against Manchester City left them in the relegation zone, three points from safety but with a game in hand.
