Tottenham v West Ham Betting Tips and Predictions

Football betting tips for this weekend’s Premier League match between Tottenham and West Ham on Sunday lunchtime.

West Ham make the short trip north to White Hart Lane for Sunday’s early kick off and we have free football tips.  Despite scoring just 2 goals in their past 5 games, Big Sam’s Hammers will have 5 days extra to prepare for this clash and will be hoping the Spurs’ players suffer another European hangover.

Spurs, buoyed by the emergence of Harry Kane and the coming of age of Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen, have finally found some Premier League form after a stuttering start to the season. They have suffered just 2 defeats in their last 11 top-flight games and are emerging as a serious threat to the Champions League hopefuls. Compared with their early season form which saw them lose 6 and win 6 of their opening 14 games, there has been a marked improvement in results as well as performances. However, after Europa league ties, Spurs have a decidedly poor record. With just 3 days to prepare after playing on a Thursday night, they have lost games to Liverpool, West Brom, Newcastle and Stoke. But, after their final two Europa league group games, Spurs rallied to beat Everton at home and Swansea away. But, can Pochettino’s men avoid falling back into this European hangover against West Ham?

West Ham have no such worries about over-exertion in cup competitions. They were dumped out of the FA Cup on Saturday; being absolutely whooped by Tony Pulis’ West Brom by 4 goals to nil. They also failed to make it over the first hurdle in the League Cup, losing on penalties to League One outfit Sheffield United. However, injuries and suspensions will be the main concern for Big Sam after losing pony-tailed sick note Andy Carroll for the rest of the season with yet another serious injury. Furthermore, Morgan Amalfitano will serve the first of a 3-match ban after his ridiculous swipe and the subsequent face grope on Chris Brunt in The Hammers’ miserable 4-0 defeat to West Brom.

Big Sam has guided his team to a position of relative safety in the Premier League, but lately their form has dipped dramatically. They have just 1 win from 8, drawing 4 and losing 3. However, they have amassed 38 points from 25 games so far, compared to just 25 points at the same stage last season. I feel that Big Sam’s men have now become complacent, knowing relegation is almost certainly out of the question and I think they have taken their foot off the gas slightly.

In their Europa league tie, Spurs started brightly against Fiorentina, but could only manage a draw after Hugo Lloris parried a free kick into the path of José Basanta who equalised to make it 1-1.  Harry Kane started the match on the bench but was introduced with 30 minutes left. However, Spurs could not find the winner and they have left themselves an uphill battle in the return leg.

Tottenham come into the clash with West Ham with superior form but with players who may be tired after only 3 days to rest. Spurs decided to field a strong (albeit with 6 changes) team against Fiorentina and it will be interesting to see if they can maintain their performance with such a hectic schedule. Spurs have won 5 out of their last 7 home games in the Premier League, drawing the other two. West Ham have managed 1 win, 3 draws and 3 defeats in the same number of away games.

Taking all factors into consideration for my Tottenham v West Ham betting tips, I feel that with Spurs having home advantage and an incredibly good home record of late, they are the most likely team to win and we predict them to do so.

With Harry Kane rested on Thursday night, I feel that he, once again, will prove to be the decisive factor in this match. Kane has the quality needed to unlock the door, as he has proved time and time again this season.

Ladbrokes are offering a massive 4/1 for Tottenham to win this match and the winnings will be paid back to you as cash. It really is a bet you cannot miss.

White Hart Lane has a history of producing goals and 7 out of the last 9 matches here have finished with more than 2.5 goals. Furthermore, in the last 20 home and away games involving Spurs, a massive 16 out of the last 20 have finished with over 2.5 goals. West Ham may not be on a scoring streak of late, but Spurs are always likely to give you chances. Therefore, my second football betting tip is for the game to have over 2.5 goals.

The best odds can be found with Bet Victor at 3/4 for over 2.5 goals.

West Ham have scored the first goal in just 1 of their last 8 away games. With this in mind along with the fact that Harry Kane has 11 goals in his past 10 Premier League games, for my final betting prediction I am predicting Harry Kane will score first.

The best odds for Harry Kane to score first can be found with Ladbrokes at 7/2.
