Tottenham v Crystal Palace Predictions
After picking up their first win of the season last week away to Sunderland, Spurs will be looking to kick on with another three points this weekend against a dangerous looking Crystal Palace side. However, the Tottenham faithful will be more than aware that Mauricio Pochetino's men are rarely at their free-flowing best following midweek exertions in the Europa League.
Spurs also have doubts surrounding several key players, with the likes of Ryan Mason, Christian Eriksen and Moussa Dembele all fighting to be fit for Sunday's clash. Combine this with the fact that striker Harry Kane has yet to break his duck for his club team this season, certainly doesn't bode well ahead of a clash with the Premier League's away specialists.
Crystal Palace make the short trip to White Hart Lane off the back of a decent performance against high-flying Manchester City. Despite losing the match to a last minute strike, Palace certainly acquitted themselves well against this season's pacesetters. In fact, ever since the appointment of Pardew, Palace have gone from relegation battlers to European contenders.
Heading into the match and both sides will be fully aware of Crystal Palace's superb away record under Pardew. The Eagles have won eight of the last ten matches on the road in a run that has included victories against Liverpool and Chelsea. With an abundance of pace throughout the team, they can be an incredibly dangerous side on the break.
Browsing the prices for the match and Tottenham are favourites at a best price of even money. Palace can be backed at odds as long as 10/3, with the draw available at 5/2.
As you may well have noticed, I can sniff an upset here, so backing Spurs at even money is just asking for trouble. The North London side have in fact only won one of their last five Premier League matches at home, so it's just not worth the risk.
