Swansea appointed Alan Curtis to manage the club until the end of the season just a week ago, but since then The Swans have been dumped out of the FA Cup to lowly Oxford United, and seen one of their main relegation rivals, Sunderland, enjoy a dominant 4-2 victory over them at The Liberty stadium.
Already there are reports in the press that Swans’ chairman Huw Jenkins is planning to axe Curtis and install a manager with proven experience to ensure that Swansea avoid relegation. A defeat against Watford at home would certainly make Curtis’ position even more unstable, and given that the Swansea team look extremely short of confidence, it's hard to look past a vibrant Watford side when the two teams meet for my Premier League predictions.
Watford had a fantastic run of form during December, but since the turn of the New Year, The Hornets’ form has dropped off somewhat and they have now suffered three defeats on the spin in the Premier League.
It's difficult to see Watford’s form dropping so disastrously that they end up battling to stay in the top flight, but then again, nobody thought it could happen to Swansea, either. With both clubs’ form in need of a boost, it's extremely hard to call this match.
When comparing the two teams’ form, it seems that Watford’s drop should only be temporary, whereas Swansea have just two victories in their last 19 matches in all competitions, and their loss of form seems all but permanent at the moment.
Who will win between Swansea and Watford? Swansea showed a lack of fight, and disastrous organisation as they fell to an embarrassing home defeat to Sunderland. Watford have more quality than the North-East side, and I expect The Hornets to compound the Welsh misery and consign Swansea to yet another defeat on Monday Night.
