There has been much ridiculous talk of AVP being under pressure before their away win on Wednesday but looking at their campaign so far, they are only three points from the top four and will only improve as the season goes on. They boast the second best away record in the premier league and they are taken to take all three points against a poor Sunderland side. There has been a slight improvement since Poyet has taken over the managerial duties but they have only taken seven points from their last seven matches and have drawn blanks in four of those fixtures. 

Spurs can be backed close to evens in the latest match betting odds with Bet Victor who price them up as 37/40 Favourites, with Sunderland a general price of 7/2 and the draw is available at 13/5 with most firms. Whilst the straight win price is appealing I’m more drawn to the Spurs win & Over 2.5 Goals price of 15/8 with Ladbrokes. Spurs achieved this last time out and Liverpool, United, Chelsea and Arsenal have all travelled to The Stadium of Light this season and achieved this result, take spurs to do that this Saturday.

So far this season Andros Townsend has been playing on the right hand side of midfield but in the last two fixtures Aaron Lennon has taken over his position. Both are speedy wingers and are adept at taking their opposing full back on. Their opposing left back tends to have a torrid time and normally ends up being booked or worse.  Dossena seems to be Sunderland’s first choice left back and whoever he faces this Saturday, he’ll be chasing them back more than going forward. For some reason he’s chalked up at 4/1 with Bet Victor and that is a cracking price.
