Although most within the wider English footballing community consider Ross Barkley one of the most exciting young footballers to emerge from this country in recent years, the current Everton midfielder is arguably yet to set the Premier League alight as many initially expected upon his first introduction down at Goodison Park.
The 23-year-old Englishman successfully rescued a point for Ronald Koeman’s side last time out against Hull City of course – but as some Toffees fans have nonetheless expressed a slight feeling of discontent towards the up and coming Three Lions man this season – perhaps Ross Barkley could soon be on his way from Goodison Park, especially with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly in the hunt for his signature this January.
£35 million does seem like a rather generous figure, if the rumours surrounding the reported interest from Spurs can really be believed…
Are Spurs still in for £35m Barkley??? I'd rip their hand off.
Complete waste of talent.

…for one reason or another, some Everton fans remain royally fed up with Barkley’s output in recent weeks…
Dear @RonaldKoeman please play Mirallas and Lukaku together. Oh and if Spurs still want to pay £50m for Barkley… take it.#EFC

There are those who nonetheless feel as if Barkley has been mistreated by the Goodison Park faithful…
Hate to say it but Ross Barkley deserves better than what the fans of Everton football club provide him with. Booed and not understood.

…then again, perspective is an important thing in football…
I get why people defend Ross Barkley, how long do you give him? Pele had 2 world cups by now ffs! I know the comparison is tough but….

With Everton’s Tom Davies currently breaking onto the scene down on Merseyside…
We've seen more potential from Tom Davies in a few games then Ross Barkley in few seasons, sell up while we can get a decent fee for him
— John Wood (@wood1182) 26 December 2016
…perhaps time is running out for Barkley with all things considered…
Ross Barkley the man….. the myth…. creates nothing and pulls out of tackles. Sell him for maximum value and sign some1 with bollocks

But whilst the current England international has been slightly off colour for Everton this season…
Ross Barkley is a poor mans Lee Cattermole. Sell him to City for £50m
— Benji ? (@Benjilee53) 19 December 2016
…would his potential departure really represent a step in the right direction for Ronald Koeman’s side? Perhaps not…
If we sell Ross Barkley then my head will explode all over my living room. And that will be a shame because I've just had the walls plastered
