Schalke v Chelsea Betting Tips: Chelsea travel to the Veltins-Arena on Tuesday night fresh off a 4-1 home win over Cardiff at the weekend and we have got Champions League betting tips for this week.

The Blues look in ominous form as of late, finding the back of the net no less than 11 times in their last three fixtures. However, Jose Mourinho is still waiting for the likes of Samuel Eto’o, Demba Ba and Fernando Torres to fire. They have just one goal between them in the league all season. Instead, the Chelsea manager will be relying on the form of midfielders Eden Hazard and Oscar.

Schalke will be without some key players for the clash on Tuesday. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Jefferson Farfan and new signing Kevin-Prince Boateng are all unavailable. The German side are currently top of Group E having won their first two games without conceding a goal, but Chelsea should provide somewhat of a sterner test. Jens Keller looks short of attacking options for the game, and may well be looking towards the in-form Julian Draxler to provide some impetus going forward. The 20 year old midfielder scored the winner in Schalke’s visit to Basel last time out, and has made a strong start to the German side’s Bundesliga campaign.

 The home side will look to dominate the midfield, leaving frontman Ádám Szalai to lead the line. The Hungarian signed from Mainz in June, and was instrumental in securing Shalke’s place in the group stage, scoring a brace against PAOK in the second leg of their qualifier.

After a shock 2-1 home defeat against Basel in their opening game, Chelsea will be heading to Gelsenkirchen desperate to make up ground on the group leaders. The London side are without a prolific goalscorer however, and may struggle to breach the defences of a well-organised Schalke backline.

Expect it to be a close affair on Tuesday night, with neither side giving too much away. A score draw could be on the cards, with Bet Victor offering 1-1 at a tempting price of 7/1.

Chelsea will be looking for all 3 points on the night, and could well be left short at the back, allowing Schalke opportunities on the break. Ladbrokes are offering both teams to score and Schalke to win at 9/2.
