Derby to Beat Ipswich 8/11:

Derby’s Play-Off Final defeat last season doesn’t seem to have disturbed them too much with the Rams putting together a steady if not spectacular start to the season. Their first four games have seen them pick up 7 points and they sit just outside the Play-Offs. They have picked up maximum points in both home matches so far, including beating Fulham 5-1! Following an opening day victory over Fulham, things looked bright for Ipswich but since then things haven’t gone to plan. Crashing out the Cup at the hands of Crawley and just 1 point from three league games have put Ipswich in the bottom half of the table. It may just be early days but Derby’s great home form should see them challenge for promotion again and Ipswich should be the ones suffering this weekend.

Millwall to Beat Blackpool 8/11:

Millwall began the season in perfect fashion with back to back wins before picking up just one point in their last two games, Saturday will be the perfect chance to get back to winning ways. Blackpool have lost all 4 of their opening fixtures and look a sure thing for the drop with their squad paper thin and hastily assembled. Millwall are just outside the Play-Offs at present and Ian Holloway will want 3 points to move them closer to the top 6.

Norwich to Beat Bournemouth 11/10:

Of the 3 relegated sides Norwich seem to have taken to the Championship the easiest and sit 3^rd. Since losing on the opening day to Wolves, the Canaries have gone on a 3 match winning streak in the league and a 4 match winning run in all competitions. They have won both of their home games so far this season and will want to make it 3/3 on Saturday. Bournemouth started the season brightly with back to back wins but they have now lost their last two games. They lost away to Blackburn last time out and this is a much tougher test, with Bournemouth old boy Louis Grabban leading the line for Norwich and a squad full of quality, this should be another home win and a small step closer to returning to the Premier League for Norwich.

Watford to Beat Huddersfield 8/11:

The big victory for Watford this week was getting in-demand striker Troy Deeney to sign a new contract and now they will want to continue their push on promotion. Sitting 2^nd, they have won 3 and lost once so far this season in the league with the defeat coming while they were on ten men for most of the match. They have recorded big home wins so far this season 3-0 against Bolton and 4-1 against Leeds in their two home games so have the form at home. After losing their first two games and sacking their manager things didn’t look good for Huddersfield but 4 points in their last two games is a steady improvement. Watford are another step up in quality though and the Hornets should have enough to see of the Yorkshire club.

Portsmouth to Beat Newport 4/5:

Our final pick comes from League 2 and one of the early pace setters in Portsmouth. Pompey are unbeaten in their opening 4 matches this season and have won 3 on the spin now after drawing their opener. Both home matches so far have returned maximum points and they take on a side at the other end of the table. Newport sit 3^rd bottom of the league at present and have just a single point to their name. Losing both of their away games so far this season is a bad sign and against one of the league’s better side it looks like another unhappy away day on the cards for the Exiles.
