For many, this game is between two sides that will be playing Championship football next season as Reading host QPR in the Sunday lunch-time kick-off live on Sky Sports.

It’s a struggle to find many positives for these sides going into the game, Reading haven’t won a game since beating Sunderland back in February, a win which put them 2 points clear of the relegation zone and after some excellent performances, there was some confidence that they would be staying in the Premier League for another season. However since that game it’s been fairly downhill for Reading since that game, they have been beaten at home 3 times by opposition also fighting for Premiership survival, including a 3-0 defeat to Wigan, a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa and most recently a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton.

QPR have been struggling for goals in there last couple of games, they’ve lost 2-0 twice on the bounce now, firstly away to Everton and last week at home to Stoke. Going forward against Stoke they seemed to find very little in terms of goal scoring opportunities and they quickly ran out of ideas on how to get past Stokes defence.

However, in a game where 3 points is a must for both sides, you can’t take too much from there games prior to this fixture, the players will understand that this could be ‘all or nothing’ and a draw isn’t good enough to keep them fighting in the Premiership for another week at least.

This game is likely to be a fiery encounter with plenty of talking points. With both teams needing 3 points, the 7/20 odds available with Bet365 for either Reading or QPR to win may not be the biggest price you’ll back, but a bet that looks nailed on for me.

I also think that both teams could start cautiously, hoping not to concede an early goal, we could see a much livelier second half.
