Premier League Tips: Why QPR Will Not Be Relegated this Season

Premier League relegation betting predictions and tips for the 2014/15 season and reasons why QPR will not get relegated this season.

At the end of the 2012-13 Premier League season, QPR were relegated following a dismal 0-0 draw with fellow strugglers Reading. The Hoops looked a complete mess, with many underperforming overpaid players on their wage bill and speculation over the future of their manager Harry Redknapp.

Fast forward a year though and suddenly things look rosy again for Queens Park Rangers. They managed to get many of the high-earning poor performers off their books, they kept Harry Redknapp as manager and to top it all off – they won promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt. No small feat for a team that easily could have been relegation candidates in the Championship given their abysmal form the previous season.

So QPR are back in the big time for the 2014-15 Premier League campaign, but will they be able to do what they couldn't do last time and avoid relegation? For my Premier League relegation betting tip I say yes. Harry Redknapp has invaluable experience managing in the top flight, including getting Tottenham into the Champions League for the first time only three years ago. Although having spent only one full season in the Championship before, 'Arry showed his quality by guiding QPR through the always tricky play-offs and back to the Promised Land.

The R's have also gotten rid of disappointing "big names" like Jose Bosingwa and Esteban Granero, replacing them with hard-workers with Premier League experience like Richard Dunne and Rio Ferdinand. They also have some bright young players in Junior Hoilett, Matt Phillips and one of the top strikers in the Championship for the past several seasons, Charlie Austin.

One of the things that could turn out to be a trump card for QPR in their quest for survival this time around is keeping hold of Loic Remy. Remy was due to move to Liverpool but the transfer was called off, and even though he's been linked with a move back to loan club Newcastle, he's still a QPR player and could yet stay at Loftus Road. He's a proven goalscorer with bags of quality – keep him and The Hoops should stay up comfortably, meaning a bet on them to finish in the top 10 could be a worthy Premier League betting tip for this season given how close the bottom 13 sides look to be once again.
