Premier League Odds – Biggest Away Wins, Home Wins and Draws so Far

It was a weekend of low scores and shock results in the Premier League this weekend, and we also saw Chelsea lose again, but the odds for a Stoke win were surprisingly generous.

As well as Stoke’s victory at home to Chelsea, Liverpool were beaten 2-1 at Anfield against Crystal Palace and Manchester City were held 0-0 at Aston Villa.

Biggest odds Premier League home wins this season so far:

The best odds available for Stoke to beat Chelsea were 327/100 this weekend and that is the biggest odds home win of the season in the Premier League so far. Chelsea feature heavily in the biggest odds wins/shortest odds defeats following their disastrous start to the season and it’s about time punters latched onto the fact that the bookies simply cannot afford to make Chelsea to big in the betting.

Before the weekend’s fixtures Chelsea were already on the receiving end of the biggest shock for an away team this season when they lost 2-1 at West Ham. West Ham’s odds to win that match were 299/100, a shade under 3/1. The other big home win this season was Swansea beating Manchester United 2-1, on that occasion Swansea went off as the 269/100 outsiders.

  1. Stoke (327/100) to beat Chelsea – won 1-0.
  2. West Ham (299/100) to beat Chelsea – won 2-1.
  3. Swansea City (269/100) to beat Man United – won 2-1.

Biggest odds Premier League away wins this season so far:

Crystal Palace’s victory over Liverpool this was a 5/1 shot at the best odds but that isn’t enough to make it to the top three biggest odds away winners this season. That title is still held by West Ham for their remarkable 2-0 win against Arsenal on the opening weekend of the season and West Ham also hold the other place in the top three for their 2-1 win at Manchester City. Crystal Palace do however get into the top three for their 2-1 win at Chelsea for which their odds were 83/10. West Ham narrowly miss out on locking out the top three Premier League away wins this season when they were 8/1 to beat Liverpool at Anfield.

  1. West Ham (1249/100) to beat Arsenal – won 2-0.
  2. West Ham (957/100) to beat Man City – won 2-1.
  3. Crystal Palace (83/10) to beat Chelsea – won 2-1.

Biggest odds Premier League draws so far this season:

Another of this weekend’s matches makes the top three in the biggest odds draws table but the top spot is occupied by Manchester United where the draw in their home match with Newcastle was at odds of 419/100 – the game ended 0-0. Man City’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa this weekend comes in as the second biggest odds draw so far this season, the outcome was best priced 96/25 this weekend and City somehow failed to make their chances count. The third draw once again features Chelsea and this time their 2-2 draw at home to Swansea City earlier on in the season, the odds for the draw were 371/100.

  1. Man United v Newcastle draw 419/100 – 0-0 draw.
  2. Aston Villa v Man City draw 96/25 – 0-0 draw.
  3. Chelsea v Swansea 419/100 – 0-0 draw.

Unsurprisingly Chelsea feature heavily in these biggest odds stats, for three defeats and one draw. West Ham dominate the biggest wins thanks to their amazing wins at Man City and Arsenal and home victory over Chelsea. Their win at Liverpool narrowly missed out.

It is interesting to see that of the six biggest home/away wins, four of these results came by a 2-1 scoreline. If you’re going to bet on any shocks for the rest of the Premier League season, it may also pay off to have a small bet on a 2-1 correct score!
