Premier League Man of the Match Tips this Weekend

The Premier League’s ‘big four’ are on the box this weekend, and we have some free Man of the Match betting tips.

At 12:45 Manchester City will be desperate to bounce back after being trounced by Bayern Munich midweek. In-form Everton are their opponents and the Merseysiders will fancy their chances of coming away with a result.

Manuel Pellegrini will look to revamp his side with Aleksander Kolarov, David Silva, Pablo Zabaleta and Alvaro Negredo likely to come back into the starting line up.

It is the little Spaniard Silva (8/1 Ladbrokes) who is likely to have the most impact, with my only worry being if he lasts the 90 minutes. However I feel he is worth the risk as his importance will be more noticeable to the BT Sport pundits after City’s lacklustre performances without him.

Other contenders include Leon Osman (20/1 Ladbrokes), as his battling efforts will be needed for Everton to get a result. I also like Alvaro Negredo (9/1 BetVictor) as he has looked very impressive every time he features for City.

Saturday’s 5:30 kick off is a relegation six-pointer, with Manchester United facing off against Sunderland (couldn’t resist).

United are fairly straightforward to bet on; if the strikers don’t perform then Michael Carrick gets the award. With that in mind I will be backing Robin Van Persie (8/1 BetVictor) in the hope he can bag a few goals and also Carrick (12/1 Ladbrokes) in case he doesn’t.

On Sunday, Norwich entertain Chelsea– but I would wait for team news before betting.

Norwich showed lots of battling ability away at Stoke last week, but I don’t think they are creative enough to trouble the Blues.  In the eventuality of a Chelsea win picking a Man of the Match is tough.

Juan Mata has been forced to do the dirty work this year- something that normally doesn’t win Man of the Match awards. Andre Schurrle impressed midweek but will probably play 60 minutes.  Give or take a Samuel Eto’o that leaves Ramires (10/1 BetVictor) and if he rides a media wave after two goals against Steaua Bucharest he could be a good bet.

In the final game of the weekend West Brom will be looking to carry on from last weeks victory against the champions, with table topping Arsenal the visitors.

West Brom look a good away side, with Morgan Amalfitano in particular very handy on the break. However I think the Baggies could struggle at home against an Arsenal side that look unbeatable at the moment.

Similar to the David Silva reasoning, I will be backing Mikel Arteta at 20/1 (BetVictor). He’s not the greatest player in the world, but Sky Sports love an Arteta interview, and after weeks of Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil loving they will look to shift the focus like they did when they gave Mathieu Flamini the award for little reason against Stoke.

Michael Carrick- 12/1 (Ladbrokes)
