Portugal will host Norway in a pre-tournament friendly on Sunday at Estadio Do Dragao before heading to France this summer. The game is scheduled for an 8:45pm kick off and our betting preview includes three tips.

Match Overview
Although it’s a pre-Euro 2016 friendly for Portugal it’s just another everyday friendly for Norway who didn’t make the plane to France this summer. Portugal head into the game favourites but they have proven time and time again that they are an annoying team to put in your accumulator with their inconsistency.
Portugal are known to be a one-man team and that man obviously being Ronaldo – he will be missing from this match because of the Champions League final. They do have other good players but as a squad they are not quite the complete 11. This is probably why they are so inconsistent; if a few of the good players don’t turn up then they don’t have many others to rely on. They did well to beat Belgium in March but were disappointingly beaten the week before by Bulgaria.
Norway are overlooked a lot of the time but realistically, they finished just one point off Croatia in the qualification group and then were disappointingly beaten by Hungary in the play-off round. I think they are a stronger team than many would imagine and they could possibly ruin a few accumulators this weekend.
Reasons for Portugal v Norway Tips
To back Portugal at odds of 1/2 you have to be very confident and against a Norway side who just missed out on a place at Euro 2016 – I’m not. It completely depends on which players turn up for the Portuguese and it’s not a given that they will play their strongest 11 especially with Ronaldo and Pepe off duty. It’s a good opportunity to trial any new players before playing the competitive games next month.
My first football prediction for Portugal vs Norway is going to be Norway draw no bet. Although you might think this is odd please remember that Portugal will be WITHOUT Ronaldo and Pepe due to the Champions League final. The perfect opportunity to back against them! The best odds for this are currently 17/4 with Bet Victor.
I do think that with the absence of Ronaldo this could be quite a dry game and the odds suggest the bookies agree with under 2.5 goals being as short as 4/6. There is no value there and I think a draw at half time is a much better bet.
My second Portugal vs Norway betting tip is going to be half time result – draw. I would guess that going into the break goalless is the most likely to land this bet but this has all the making of a bore fest. The best odds for this are currently 6/5 with Bet365.
My last tip is much more ambitious but I think it’s worth a punt. Based on how inconsistent Portugal are even with Ronaldo in the team, without him makes it much more likely for them to slip up. Portugal don’t score a huge amount of goals without him and they are massively reliant on the Real Madrid star to create, I think they could easily not score again.
My correct score prediction for Portugal vs Norway is going to be correct score of 1-0 Norway. As you can tell I clearly fancy the upset and the best odds for this are currently a huge 13/1 with 888Sport.
