Monaco vs Tottenham predictions and betting tips for their Champions League clash on Tuesday 22nd November.

 

Spurs face group leaders Monaco in a game they must pick up points from if they want to qualify for the group stages. Tottenham sit third in Group E, two points behind Bayer Leverkusen in 2nd place, and face a tough test against unbeaten Monaco on Tuesday. If Pochettino’s side fail to win and Bayer Leverkusen pick up three points, Spurs will be knocked out of the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side come into this match following a dramatic match on Saturday evening against West Ham, where two late Harry Kane goals secured a 3-2 victory. Meanwhile, their opponents Monaco are in fine form, winning their last three matches without conceding and scoring 12 goals in the process. These two sides met in September at Wembley for their first match in the group stage, and the French side ran out 2-1 winners. Tottenham will be hoping that their victory on Saturday was a turning point following no win in seven previous to that. However, Monaco are unbeaten in 10 at home this campaign and have won eight of those matches. I can see this being a very tight match, just like Monaco’s last home match in the Champions League at the Stade Louis where they drew 1-1 with Leverkusen. Therefore, my first Champions League betting tip for Monaco vs Tottenham is going to be a draw.

Monaco have been scoring for fun on home turf, netting 30 goals in just 10 games. Meanwhile, Tottenham haven’t been great defensively recently and have conceded in their last five matches. Toby Alderweireld is expected to miss out again and has proved to be a massive loss for Spurs. With Radamel Falcao facing a disrupted defence, I can’t see Spurs keeping a clean sheet. Falcao himself has netted five goals in just three games. Meanwhile, with Harry Kane returning in style for Tottenham after netting three goals in two, I can see him proving a nuisance for the Monaco defence too. For Monaco, Joao Moutinho is sidelined along with Nabil Dirar. Defender Almamy Traore is also unavailable for selection. Meanwhile for Spurs, they will still be without Toby Alderweireld and Ben Davies. Erik Lamela is also expected to miss out. Dele Alli could feature following his substitute appearance on Saturday.
