A concern for Luton will be their poor start to the new season and they find themselves down in 22nd place in League One after just two draws from their first four matches. They have lost their last two games but did dispatch of Championship side Bristol City in the last round of the League Cup, winning 3-1.

 

Stoke have also only managed two draws from their first three Premier League games but have a decent record in this competition. Their last two defeats have come against Tottenham and Manchester United.

Luton lost 3-2 to Yeovil at the weekend but a name on the scoresheet caught the eye, that of Craig Mackail-Smith. He has scored goals at a higher level and if he plays from the start in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup match he could be a decent bet to score.

Goals could be the order of the day in this match, neither side have been particularly water tight so far this season and this could carry on with some changes to both sides. Stoke shipped two against Spurs and Luton somehow conceded three against Yeovil. Over 2.5 goals looks a solid bet but go one further and bet on their to be four goals or more.
