Liverpool vs West Brom Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Liverpool vs West Brom predictions and betting tips for this weekend’s Saturday evening TV fixture in the Premier League and the best odds for each selection.

Tony Pulis takes his West Brom side to Anfield on Saturday night to face Liverpool with both sides looking to grab all three points rather than the one point they both took last weekend. Here are two tips for the game live on BT Sport.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said that his side ‘could have done better’ in an attacking sense on Monday night when they drew a blank against Manchester United. The game was hugely anticipated by the media and public and it didn’t really live up to expectations but Klopp will be happy that his side are unbeaten this season against the so called bigger sides. However, his side normally struggles against the sides in the bottom half of the table as shown by the defeat against Burnley and the late win against Swansea and now his side face a West Brom team who have a decent record against Liverpool in recent times. West Brom come into the match after three straight draws and they are sitting comfortably in mid-table at the moment and this is where they will stay with Pulis in charge. Many people question his style of football but he guarantees results and makes his team very difficult to beat and that was shown last weekend when they drew 1-1 with high-flyers Tottenham. The acquisition of Nacer Chadli has been very good and he has added a spark that West Brom have been lacking for a while and with four goals in the premier league already he is proving a perfect partner for big man Saloman Rondon up front. They have only failed to score twice this season and will be confident of grabbing a goal against a leaky Liverpool defence.

Liverpool vs West Brom Predictions

Both my Premier League betting tips this week are going to be special bets and ones that I don’t do very often, however I think that these odds have the best value and that’s why I’ve picked them. My first Liverpool vs West Brom prediction is going to be for West Brom to have over 2.5 cards in the match. I am choosing this because West Brom will try and keep it tight and commit little fouls to waste time (like what Manchester United did on Monday) and this will lead to a few cards. Odds for this are evens at Bet365 and this will be my banker bet for this match.

My second Liverpool vs West Brom betting tip is going to be a William Hill special bet. I think Liverpool will win and both teams to score but odds are too short for this so I have added an anytime scorer into the mix for higher odds. Phillippe Coutinho was denied by a fantastic save on Monday night and looked very dangerous throughout and I can see him scoring on Saturday. Coutinho to score, Liverpool to win and both teams to score is 19/5 at William Hill and I think this is a very good bet at slightly bigger odds.

Liverpool vs West Brom Team News

Adam Lallana will be looking to start this match after coming off the bench on Monday night for thirty odd minutes. James Milner will also be looking to shake of a knock that made him come off against Manchester United and Liverpool fans will be hoping he does so that Alberto Moreno doesn’t start. As for West Brom, they have no injury worries ahead of the game on Saturday and will probably be unchanged for the fourth game running.

Head to Head Stats

As mentioned earlier West Brom have a decent record against Liverpool in the past few years. They have only lost once in the last five meetings and have drawn four of those. Last year both games ended in a score-draw and Tony Pulis would take this result right now if you offered it to him.

Liverpool vs West Brom Betting Odds

Liverpool are strong favourites for this game and are best priced 3/10 for the win at Stan James. If you fancy a repeat of the result here last season then a draw is 5/1 at Paddy Power and the same bookie are offering 12/1 if you think the baggies can win here. If you do think Liverpool will win and think 3/10 is too short, then Liverpool to win and both teams to score is best priced 2/1 at Bet365. Finally, Daniel Sturridge is the favourite in the anytime goal scorer market and he is 21/20 at Betfair to score at any point but a West Brom fan might fancy Rondon to get on the scoresheet and he is a tasty 5/1 to score at any point with Betfred.
