Brendan Rodgers may have stated his ambition to finish in the Champions League places with Liverpool, but such a scenario looks highly unlikely given their current form. Fulham have regressed considerably after a bright start to the season. They have picked up just two wins from their past ten games. In terms of the context of this game, they have continued to struggle away from home and haven’t won since the victory at Wigan at the end of September, their sole victory away from Craven Cottage this year. More worryingly, they are conceding two goals on average every game away and have the 19^th worst defensive record away from home. That said, they are the fourth highest scorers away from home too.

Fulham won this fixture last year but this was the first time they had ever emerged victorious at Anfield and the first time they had scored even a goal there since 2006. Both sides have struggled lately and whilst this may indicate a dull draw, Fulham’s dismal away record – they have won just six away games in the past three seasons – means the home side are favourites.
