New signing Christian Benteke ran himself into the ground up front but was starved of any kind of service into the box. Opponents Bournemouth were on the end of an unfortunate home defeat to Aston Villa after dominating the game for long periods. The Cherries squandered several clear-cut opportunities throughout the match and were made to pay later in the game as Rudy Gestede won it for the visitors. If Eddie Howe's men are to stay in the English top flight for next season, they are going to need to be more ruthless in front of goal.

 

Odds for the clash tonight have Liverpool as clear favourites across the board at 4/9. Bournemouth are available at a best price of 15/2, with the draw on offer at 19/5.

 

Considering the match is the opening game at Anfield this season, one would expect Liverpool to really try and put on show.
