Leicester vs Leeds Man of the Match Betting Tips

The Sunday teatime game on Sky features two teams who have both made the perfect start to the season, as Leeds United travel to Leicester.

Both sides won their opening Championship and Capital One Cup matches 2-1, so something has to give as the two promotion hopefuls look to gain the upper hand.

I can’t separate these two sides and I can see the game being an entertaining draw, which is why I’m more inclined to back an away team player for the man of the match (MOTM) award.

If it is a draw then it opens up the potential MOTM winner, as there would be no match winner to give it to. This leaves battling centre halves and central midfielders in with a great chance.

With Sam Byram injured the Whites aren’t as strong at the back, as youngster Tom Lees is still learning his trade and his defensive partners blow hot and cold.

But the aforementioned Lees is the most likely shout out of the four for MOTM as he is a local lad who the commentators will love if he plays well and is probably the only decent price for the weekend at 33/1.

Lee Peltier will be fired up against his former club and will want to prove that he isn’t Leeds’ weak link, but whether he has the quality to win MOTM is questionable. He is priced up at 33/1 if anyone likes that kind of bet.

Ross McCormack is Leeds most influential player and looks slightly overpriced at 12/1. He is everything that’s good about Leeds offensive play and is a natural leader.

For Leicester obviously Anthony Knockaert is the star man but 7/1 is short, especially considering there are still questions over his fitness.

This is why I’m looking towards the ever-improving Matthew James in the heart of the Leicester midfield at 12/1. He impressed on Sky last year, has the English and youth bias on his side and will work his socks off.
