Italy vs Spain predictions and football betting tops for this week’s World Cup 2018 qualifying fixture at the Juventus Stadium with kick off scheduled for 19:45 on Thursday.
Here we shall see two of Europe’s giants going to head to head as they aim to get one foot in the next World Cup, Russia 2018. They will both want to get over the disappointment of the last international competition as they face each other again aiming to progress. This is a much different fixture from the last time they met but that shall be covered later on.
Italy vs Spain Predictions
The bookies have found it rather difficult to find a favourite in their betting odds; I can understand why they have put Spain’s odds just a little shorter than the hosts. Since Conte left the Italians to head to Chelsea they suffered a three one defeat in their first qualifying game against France and only managed a 3-1 win over Israel. Spain have won their two World Cup qualifying games so far and it appears they have come out the Euro’s in much better shape. My first Italy vs. Spain prediction is Spain to win at 8/5 with Sky Bet.

BTTS and Over 2.5 Goals Tips
Going in to the Euro’s Italy were questioned by many on their lack of talent from midfield and forwards, a solid defence did them massive favours but I do have to praise the players who Conte flew over, they worked very well together and were pushing favourites at points early on. They have scored in both their two games under the new boss with a total of four games in each game. Spain on the other hand have yet to concede in their qualifiers scoring two against Belgium then putting eight past Liechtenstein. Italy should pose a bigger threat than the latter team here and although Belgium couldn’t break the deadlock I’m hoping the home side can this time. My second Italy vs. Spain betting tip is BTTS and over 2.5 goals at 21/10 with William Hill.

Correct Score Prediction
A lot of players are missing from all international squads as managers feel they will be treated for “injuries” better back at the club. Many read in to it how they feel fit but it does feel a bit conspicuous at times. I would normally stick a bigger odds first or anytime goal scorer in but instead let’s look at odds of a correct score tip. I fancy Spain to win but both teams to score, Italy have a good defence if they all start. My third Italy vs Spain prediction is Spain to win 2-1 at 21/2 with Bet Victor.

Italy vs Spain Team News
Italy have named a very similar 26-man squad to the team who defeated Israel with no room still for Balotelli and a suspension in this game for defender Chiellini. Spain as always are full of talent and once again name a similar squad, Juan Mata and Cesc Fabregas haven’t made it this time around with Ander Herrera getting a call up instead.
Head to Head
The last game between these sides saw Italy send Spain home from Euro 2016 with a victory which was actually the first they had managed against the Spanish with losing three (one on penalties) and drawing two prior. Italy will not want the past record in this fixture to make an appearance again as they hope to take the victory for back to back wins.
Italy vs Spain Betting Odds
There is plenty of other odds worth checking out if you fancy a punt on this game. The first goal scorer odds can be tempting if you look at the players who are most likely to lead both teams, Diego Costa can be found at 5/1 with Morata just drifted out to 11/2. If you fancy Italy to grab the first, then you might fancy Pelle first at 6/1. If you want a safer bet, look towards these as anytime scorers or to make a bit more money look at an anytime goal scorer double.
