Hamburg host Bayern Munich in the first game of the Ruckrunde (Matchdays 18-34). Hamburg finished before the winter break in relatively poor form, meaning they are currently sitting in 10th place. They’ve lost their last two home games to Mainz and Augsburg, games in which they would have fancied their chances to get at least a point. Bayern have monopolised the Bundesliga, and because of that I can see no other result that an away win for my football tips on the match. Couple this with the fact that Hamburg really struggle to score any goals as they lack relative firepower up top. Hamburg have also lost the three friendlies they’ve played to recondition themselves for the second half of the season. They lost 3-1 to Ajax and 2-1 to both Young Boys and Rot Weiss-Erfurt which are pretty disappointing results.

 

My first bet for the match is Bayern Munich to win -2 handicap. They score goals for absolute fun and they’re very defensively adept. They can tear apart teams in a matter of minutes and will want to replicate the form they shown before Christmas.
