Manchester United to beat Everton – 6/5

Despite seeing their run of six-straight victories come to an end with defeat at Chelsea last weekend, there were still plenty of positives for Manchester United who were unfortunate not to leave Stamford Bridge with at least a point having dominated for much of the game. This should leave them in good spirits as they face a tricky trip to Everton, looking to strengthen their position within the top four.

The hosts have struggled this season, and find themselves in the bottom half although recent performances have been improved with four wins and a draw from their last five matches. They will be keen to finish the season strongly and finish as high as possible, however given United’s impressive form of late this could prove a step beyond them. Victory could see the Red Devils move up to second place, and if they continue to play the way they have over the past few weeks, they should have enough to take all three points.

 

Arsenal to draw with Chelsea – 9/4

Chelsea moved within touching distance of the Premier League title with that victory over United, and it’s surely just a matter of time before they are crowned champions of England once more. Their trip to the Emirates could well a cagey encounter, with Jose Mourinho knowing a point will be more than suitable for his side as they look to keep their closest rivals at bay.

With just one defeat in 15, Arsenal face an improbable task if they are to win the game, but are in excellent form themselves winning nine of their last 10 league matches which will give them some confidence of narrowing the 10-point gap.

With both sides in great form, it would be no surprise to see these two cancel each other out, and a low scoring draw could well be on the cards if Mourinho sets up his side with the sole aim of avoiding defeat.

 

Real Madrid to beat Celta Vigo – 8/15

Boyd from their win over Atletico Madrid in midweek, Real will be on a high after securing their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League, and another win will be crucial in their bid to win the La Liga title.

Four straight wins have seen them cut Barcelona’s lead at the top to just two points and they should have more than enough quality to see of Celta Vigo and maintain the pressure on their rivals. The visitors have only failed to win seven league games all season, and go into this one as heavy favourites with their opponents currently sat in ninth place.

The home side have won their last two to move into the top half, a position they will be pleased to occupy for the remainder of the season.

But given the array of talent in the Madrid side, it’s hard to see them maintaining that run and they will need to do something special in order to avoid defeat this weekend.

 

Lazio to beat Chievo – 2/5

Lazio are the form team in Serie A with 24 points from their last 10 games and could have no shame in seeing their unbeaten run come to an end at the home of the soon to be champions Juventus last weekend. Despite the defeat, they still find themselves second in the table and can begin dreaming of a return to the Champions League.

But although they have a five-point buffer over fourth placed Napoli, they know they must get back to winning ways heading into the final seven games, with a home fixture against Chievo certainly one they will be looking to pick up maximum points from.

Lazio have only failed to win four of their 15 home games this season, and rightfully head into this one as overwhelming favourites. Chievo are down in 13th position with little left to play for as they appear to be safe for another season. They have a decent away record but have lost over a third of their matches this season, and it’s hard to see them avoiding another defeat given the form of their opponents and the importance of three points for Lazio.
