Sheffield Wednesday to beat Wigan    

Sheffield Wednesday beat Aston Villa 1-0 on the opening day of the campaign but have struggled for goals and points since that victory. However, there were signs of a return to the impressive form of last season when the Owls claimed a deserved point at Brentford in their previous outing when a freak goal was conceded by Wednesday. Wigan are the visitors to Hillsborough on Saturday, but they have lost all three competitive games on the road this term in conceding eight goals. An Owls victory via a clean sheet could be the outcome.  

 

Fleetwood to draw with Charlton  

Fleetwood have won their two latest matches by 2-0 scorelines and are unbeaten on home soil this term scoring two goals in each of three games, and they host a Charlton team which has recovered from a slow start to the campaign by claiming seven points from their three latest matches including a 1-1 draw with League One leaders Bolton. The Addicks produced a solid defensive performance in that game and could extend their current unbeaten Championship sequence to five games by drawing at Fleetwood.

 

Hartlepool to beat Yeovil

Hartlepool opened the scoring at Stevenage in their previous match but then conceded six goals without reply as manager Craig Hignett publicly criticised the performance of his players. He will demand a positive response in this game against a Yeovil team which has lost four successive League Two matches and which has conceded seven goals in their latest two contests. ‘Pool won 2-1 at nearby Exeter when travelling the long distance to South West England earlier in the season and could repeat that victory at the weekend.
