Football Accumulator Tips this Weekend

 

Chelsea and Manchester United to draw

Chelsea host Manchester United this weekend, but unlike other meetings over the past decade; it’s not a fixture that will have an effect on the title race with both sides performing below expectations this season. The hosts and reigning champions endured a dreadful start to the campaign, but thinks have improved since the departure of Jose Mourinho, with Gus Hiddink remaining unbeaten in his second spell at Stamford Bridge. They still sit in the bottom half of the table in 13th position, and with three draws in their last five, have still only managed seven wins all season. The Blues have drawn their last three at home, and it would be no surprise to see them serve up another on Sunday.

 

The Red Devils have arguably put in their two best performances of the season in their last outings, with a 3-1 win at Derby followed by a 3-0 win over Stoke in midweek. They remain in the hunt for a top four spot, however have a five-point gap to overturn in the final 14 games if they are to do so. Louis van Gaal has a decent record against the bigger sides; with his team becoming hard to beat in the so called bigger games. They recorded a vital win at Anfield in their previous away fixture, and given Chelsea’s woes this season they may well fancy their chances of a repeat performance here. A game that both teams will be looking to win; however, both would arguably take a point and with that in mind a draw doesn’t look the most unlikely outcome here.

 

PSG to beat Marseille

PSG continued their imperious form this week with another two victories; recording a 2-0 win at St Etienne before netting three against Lorient in midweek. The runaway leaders have set some astonishing numbers this campaign, winning 21 of their 24 games, dropping just six points all season thanks to three draws. They’ve won 11 on the road; conceding just three goals in 13 games and they will surely be confident of extending that run when they travel to Marseille on Sunday.

 

The hosts have been disappointing this season, but have improved slightly in recent weeks; climbing to eighth in the table. They’ve won just a third of their matches, and although losing only six games, have racked up 10 draws. And it’s at home where they have struggled most, with the third worst home form in the league. They’ve drawn their last five and have managed just two victories to date, and with 34 points separating the two sides, PSG have to be the selection for our accumulator tip.

 

Real Betis to Valencia

Real Betis host Valencia this weekend as two of La Liga’s out of form sides meet with the pressure firmly on visiting manager Gary Neville after their 7-0 thrashing at the Nou Camp in midweek. The former Man United star is yet to win a league game since arriving in Spain, and his side sit down in twelfth position having recorded just five wins all season.  They’ve recorded just two wins away from home, and with confidence sure to be at a huge low, it could be worth chancing a Betis win here.

 

The home side sit two places below Valencia in the table, and like their opposition have won only five games this campaign. They’ve performed far better on the road than at home, where they boast the worst home record in the league with just one win in 10. But despite this, they put in an impressive performance against Real Madrid last time out where they were unfortunate to only leave with a point, and a repeat performance here could heap further pressure on Neville and his Valencia team.
