Manchester City to beat Arsenal – 5/6

Man City go into this as favourites, and rightly so given Arsenal’s terrible record against the league’s top three sides in recent seasons. The reigning champions are hot on the heels of Chelsea, just two points off top spot, and are unbeaten in their last 12 league games, a run stretching back to the end of October. Arsenal meanwhile, look set for another battle for the top four places, and currently find themselves in fifth spot after their victory over Stoke last weekend. Despite the red-hot form of Alexis Sanchez, they have a few notable injury problems going into this game, and have only managed four wins on the road from 11 games this season. Their previous away fixture saw them go down 2-0 to Southampton, and given City’s strong home form; which has seen them win seven from 10 so far, a repeat could well be on the cards. With their star striker Sergio Aguero returning to action, Man City look an inviting price to take all three points once again.

 

Real Madrid to beat Getafe – 1/4

Despite a disappointing exit from the Copa Del Rey this week; where they were defeated over two legs by city rivals Atletico, the reigning European champions continue to sit top of La Liga by a point, and with a game in hand over their closest competitors. Madrid got back to winning ways last weekend with a comfortable 3-0 win over Espanyol, and will be looking to maintain top spot when they travel to Getafe this weekend. Madrid have the best away form in the league, with seven wins from nine, and a whopping 32 goals. They have won 14 games already this season, failing to win just three times, proving just how difficult a task Getafe face. The home side find themselves in 14th spot, just a point above the relegation zone, and with just four wins to their name. They have only won twice in front of their home fans this season in nine attempts, managing just five goals in the process.

 

Atletico Madrid to beat Granada – 2/11

Atletico once again got the better of Real Madrid this week, with an impressive 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu earning them a place in the next round of the Copa Del Rey. This will have a provided a welcome boost to the defending league champions, who suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Barcelona last weekend, denting their hopes of retaining their title. With just one defeat at home and seven wins from nine, they look a strong bet to do so, against a side who have lost their last three on the road, and managed just one win from a possible nine away fixtures, scoring just six goals. The league’s bottom side have only won twice all season, and look a side destined for relegation, unless they can convert some draws into wins.

 

Marseille to beat Guingamp – 2/5

Marseille lost top spot last weekend in the race for the Ligue 1 title after defeat to Montpellier, however are still very much involved in what is shaping up to be a tremendous fight for the championship. With nine wins from 10 and just one defeat, Marseille have proven a very strong outfit on their own turf, and look a good bet once more as they take on mid-table side Guingamp. The visitors have only managed three wins from nine on their travels, and will need to be at their best to end Marseille’s winning run at home. This may not be a straight forward task for Marseille, however they are still fancied to get the better of the visitors this weekend.

 

Benfica to beat Maritimo – 6/10

It’s difficult to look past the league-leaders Benfica once again this weekend, as they look to extend their six point lead at the top of the table, and continue their fine run of form. They have managed a staggering 14 wins from 16, with just a single draw and defeat all season. Having won their last four on the road, the only time they failed to gain maximum points on their travels came back in October when they lost 2-1 to Braga. Mid-table side Maritimo are their next opponents, and having lost just once on their home patch in seven games, may provide a stern test for the European giants. They have conceded just four times in this period, and picked up an impressive win against Braga last time out. Although a tight game could be on the cards, Benfica are a class above their opponents, and if they continue their form of late, can pick up another win at a decent price.
