Tottenham to beat Newcastle – 13/10

Liverpool face Aston Villa in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, with both sides heading into the Wembley encounter off the back of important league victories. Having seemingly blown their hopes of Champions League qualification, this competition will be even more important to the Reds now, and sat fifth in the table they are rightly favourites to reach the final.

Despite back to back defeats at the hands of Arsenal and Manchester United, Liverpool have been on a fine run of form and they should have enough quality to overcome a resurgent Villa side.

Tim Sherwood’s men moved six points clear of the bottom three after a crucial win at Spurs which will give them confidence heading into this game. However with just eight league victories to their name; they have found wins hard to come by at times this season and look to be up against it here.

 

Lyon to beat St Etienne – 19/20

Lyon took over the leadership at the top of Ligue 1 once again heading into the weekend with a two point advantage over PSG after a 2-0 win over Bastia. And with just six games left they will be looking to continue their title charge at home to St Etienne who also have plenty to play for themselves.

Lyon have the best home form in the division with an impressive 13 home wins from 16 which could give them the edge as they look to make it three wins on the bounce in what promises to be a tight affair.

The visitors find themselves fifth in the table but are just two points off third place Monaco in the race for Champions League qualification. Four wins from their last five mean they head into this clash in red hot form, and they will certainly pose a real test to Lyon’s title aspirations.

But having only won six games on the road this season, it could be worth taking a chance on Lyon to build on their solid home form, and they are the selection at a tempting price.

 

Celtic to beat Inverness – 1/3

Celtic meet Inverness in the semi-finals of the Scottish FA Cup this weekend as they continue their bid for a domestic treble. The Premiership leaders are firm favourites to make it through to another final, and with a 21-point advantage over their opponents in the table; should have more than enough to do so.

Celtic come into the game in fine form with four wins and a draw from their last five games, including a 4-1 success over Kilmarnock on Wednesday. Their opponents meanwhile have struggled in recent weeks and have failed to win any of their last five games with two draws and three defeats. Despite sitting third in the table, they will have to spring a huge upset if they are to make it through to the final and it’s hard to see past another Celtic victory.
