Slim pickings this week with it being the International break, but we still have League One and Two to maintain our interest and have a flutter on. Here's my accumulator tip for this Saturday.
This weekend accumulator comes from William Hill and pays at over 13/1. We have only got four selections today but if you place an accumulator of five picks or more at William Hill this season and one pick lets you down, you will get the cost of your bet refunded back to you.
Saturday Accumulator Tip
Peterboro to win at Crewe
Free scoring Posh suffered a hiccup last week as they went down 2-0 at home to an impressive Crawley performance, i expect them to bounce back strongly this week. They play a Crewe side who have leaked 12 goals in their 5 league games, surely a recipe for disaster when facing arguably the most potent attack in the league.
Crawley to beat Gillingham
The afforementioned Crawley's performance at Peterborough last week was one to take note of, not only a deserved win but also a clean sheet, they were also impressive the week before when playing Wolves away in front of the Sky cameras. They face a Gillingham side who are winless so far this season and are struggling to adapt to life in League one, despite respectable draws against Swindon and Brentford. At around Evens, Crawley look value.
Fleetwood to beat Torquay
Though very early in the season, an interesting stat has emerged in League two, so far 51.7% of the games have been won by the home team so far this season, compared to 39 in the Championship & 36.7% in League one, it will be interesting to see if that trend continues. With that in mind, i am going to finish off my accumulator with two home teams from League two. Starting with Fleetwood at home to Torquay. The promotion favourites have started solidly, currently lying in 6th but will be expecting more as the season progresses, they have a strong squad and look value to see off a solid but unspectacular Torquay team.
Southend to beat Morecambe
Now it's not often I will find myself backing a Phil Brown led team, but i was prepared to make an exception here. Southend have won both home games so far these season without conceding, whilst Morecambe have lost both away games without finding the net. Southend have also been praised by the opposition manager in their defeats to Chesterfield and Wycombe, both of whom tipped them as promotion candidates. They also seem to have the forgoten Freddie Eastwood back in some form.
