Footbal Tips Germany U21 v Netherlands U21 and Match Prediction

Netherlands Under 21 and Germany Under 21’s kick off their campaign tonight and with both sides fancied in the betting odds, predicting the game looks tough.

On paper it looks as though these two sides will be battling it out for second place in Group B behind Spain so this opening match is crucial to their chances of progression to the semi-finals. 2009 Champions Germany are second favourites in the outright betting for the European Under 21 Championships but their failure to qualify for the 2011 competition is a slight concern, however their qualifying campaign for this tournament was impressive.

Germany scored 39 goals in their ten qualifying matches and given that the Netherlands are much like their senior counterparts in the way that they prefer to win 5-4 that 1-0, this could be the game of the tournament. Over 2.5 goals is priced at a generous 10/11 (Ladbrokes) but over 3.5 could be the value bet at 9/4 (Betfred).

Tottenham’s Lewis Holtby will captain the Germany Under 21 side and is expected to play a more advanced role than we are used to seeing in the Premier League.
