Last Weeks Team:

Thibaut Courtois – 2 points

John Terry – 2 points

Branislav Ivanovic – 4 points

Pablo Zabaleta – 2 points

Jolean Lescott – 6 points

Jordan Henderson – 6 points

Coutinho – 2 points

Eden Hazard – 5 points

Mesut Ozil – 5 points

Harry Kane – 2 points

Saido Berahino – 2 points

Total – 38 points

Verdict – Mid Table Performance

Team for next week:

Goalkeeper

1. Thibaut Courtois

Next fixture: Hull (A)

Previous match: vs. Southampton – Drew 1-1

The lanky Belgium made some fabulous saves against the Saints and was desperately unlucky not to have saved the penalty with his legs as Tadic placed it straight down the middle. With an away game against a Hull side languishing near the bottom of the table, Chelsea should be taking all three points in this one. Hull have scored just 1 goal in their past 3 games and I doubt that they will pose a significant threat to a far superior Chelsea side.

Defenders

2. John Terry – Chelsea

Next fixtures: Hull (A)

Previous match: vs. Southampton – Drew 1-1

Terry had a solid game against The Saints and they only conceded via a penalty after Matic felled Sadio Mane in the box. A clean sheet in the next fixture against Hull will be an expectation for Chelsea as they close in on the Premiership title.

3. Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea

Next fixtures: Hull (A)

Previous match: vs. Southampton – Drew 1-1

The Serb had a fine game against The Saints. He should have been awarded a penalty and he also provided the assist for Costa’s headed goal. He is one of the top performing defenders in Fantasy Football and is a must pick with Hull City up next.

4. Nathaniel Clyne – Southampton

Next fixtures: Burnley (H)

Previous match: vs. Chelsea – Drew 1-1

Clyne was limited by a Chelsea side who, apart from conceding the penalty, defended well. With a home match against Burnley up next, Southampton should be taking the points. The Saints have only conceded 2 goals from their last 7 in the Premiership and should continue their fine defensive record against a Burnley side with a very poor away record. Clyne is one of the most consistent fantasy football defenders and chips in with a fair number of assists and key contributions.

5. Jose Fonte – Southampton

Next fixtures: Burnley (H)

Previous match: vs. Chelsea – Drew 1-1

Fonte has been crucial to the Saints defence in this season’s Premiership campaign. With just 2 goals conceded from their last 7, Jose Fonte is a must pick for next week.

Midfielders

6. Jordan Henderson – Liverpool

Next fixtures: Man Utd (H)

Previous match: vs. Swansea – Won 1-0

Henderson grabbed the only goal of the game in a close fought battle against Swansea. There was a huge element of fortune in the finish, but Henderson was again in the right place at the right time. His form is outstanding at the moment and with butter rivals Man Utd up next, Henderson will be the driving force behind what I expect to be a Liverpool victory.

7. Coutinho – Liverpool

Next fixtures: Man Utd (H)

Previous match: vs. Swansea – Won 1-0

The Brazilian has been magnificent recently; his performance against Swansea was not the best, but I feel Liverpool are in the type of form to absolutely blow United out of the water in their next match. I feel Coutinho will be a constant thorn for The Red Devils in this one. Coutinho is one of the most in form midfielders in Fantasy Football at the moment and I cannot leave him out of my side.

8. Eden Hazard – Chelsea

Next fixtures: Hull (A)

Previous match: vs. Southampton – Drew 1-1

Hazard was marshalled very well by the Saints defence in the last game, albeit via numerous fouls. Hazard will no doubt be in the thick of the action as Chelsea take on a poor Hull side. Hazard is an extremely consistent performer and is worth the expensive price tag for next week.

9. Mesut Özil – Arsenal

Next fixtures: Newcastle (A)

Previous match: vs. West Ham – Won 3-0

Arsenals domestic form has been magnificent of late and they are now just one point behind second placed Man City. Ozil has contributed numerous assists and amassed a massive amount of Fantasy points over the last few months since returning from injury. Newcastle have scored just 1 goal in their last 4 matches and I expect the Gunners to swat them away in this one. Ozil will surely be crucial to Arsenal again.

Forwards

10. Harry Kane – Tottenham

Next fixture: Leicester (H)

Previous match: vs. Man Utd – lost 3-0

Kane was marshalled very well by a much improved United defence. His one chance came in the dying minutes and De Gea did well to sit on the ball to deny the young Englishman from continuing his goal scoring form. Spurs should get back to winning ways against Leicester on Saturday and I expect Kane will notch a few in the process.

11. Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool

Next fixtures: Man Utd (H)

Previous match: vs. Swansea – won 1-0

Liverpool's face Man Utd on the back of 5 straight victories. Sturridge has shown that he is on the way back to his imperious best and was denied a great goal by the width of the post against Swansea. I am expecting Liverpool to run riot at home to their bitter rivals and I can see Sturridge being the man to provide the goals against a shaky United defence.

That's my team for the upcoming fantasy football week and I expect them to do better than last week’s team. Why not share your fantasy football teams and wildcard choices with me on Twitter @tommorogers.
