Accumulator Predictions:
We’ll run through the teams in match order and first up…
Chelsea v Villa – The Blues have been in imperious form so far this season scoring 16 goals in their first five matches and sit top of the league. They play a Villa side who are struggling with a virus in their ranks and were walloped by Arsenal 3-0 as a result of this. Travelling to Stamford Bridge at the best of times isn’t easy and it’s been made doubly more so with this outbreak.
Man City v Hull – City have had mixed results so far this season but look to be slowly clicking into gear. Teams like Hull are ones that they normally swat aside and they come into this after beating Sheffield Wednesday seven zip in the League Cup. Hull haven’t won at home all season and I can’t see them winning this.
Real Madrid v Villarreal – Los Blancos travel to El Madrigal on the back of two resounding victories which have saw them score 13 goals during those two wins. This match will be tough as Villarreal are a strong outfit at home. History is on our side however as Real are undefeated in their last four matches here and know that any slip ups will see them fall further behind Barcelona at the top of the league.
Barcelona v Granada – A no brainer this pick. Barca sit second, undefeated and somehow haven’t even conceded a goal yet. They should win by at least two on Saturday.
Roma v Verona – Roma have started the season like they did last year winning all their matches and are only second due to goal difference. Whilst their opponents have exceeded expectations so far sitting fifth in the league, i Giallorossi will have too much for them.
Juventus v Atalanta – The reason why Roma are second and not top is because Juventus have started that little bit better. Like Barca they haven’t conceded a goal so far this season and travel to Atalanta where they have won their last seven matches at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia. The hosts have yet to score at home this season and I expect this to be the case on Saturday evening.
Inter v Cagliari – Inter have started the season well, currently sit third and have scored nine goals in their two home matches. They play the bottom side who haven’t won at Giuseppe Meazza in their last 11 visits and are traditionally one of the worst sides in the league on the road.
Real Sociedad v Valencia – It was a tossup between Atletico and Valencia for the final pick. The Champions have had mixed results and are playing a Sevilla side who have started well and sit third. At odds odd they offered no value so no bet. Valencia, like Sevilla have started well, drawing with Los Rojiblancos before winning their next four games, scoring three goals in each, taking them to the top of the league. Sociedad have only won once and that was the stunning comeback against Madrid were they won 4-2. I shall err on the side of caution and cover both the draw and away win.
The straight win acca comes in at just over 26/1 (38/1 with the bonus) with the Valencia win included and the seven plus the Valencia draw comes in at a shade over 37/1 (48/1 with the bonus). #LetsDoThis.
