Napoli can throw in an odd result at home as draws against Empoli and Cagliari would suggest, yet they beat Roma 2-0 back in November. This week they play a Parma side that are bobbins. They have lost their last five on the road and sit bottom of Serie A.

Manchester City v Crystal Palace – home win.

The blues are currently suffering a striker crisis as their main three onion baggers are all on the sidelines but they will still have enough for a Palace side that have won just once in their last 10 matches. They have played well in parts of these games however the gulf in class should show between the two teams with city winning by a couple.

 

Barcelona v Cordoba – home win.

West Ham United v Leicester – home win.

Who would have thought that West Ham United would be sitting fourth in the league coming into Christmas? But that’s where they are and that’s in part due to their strong home form. Despite losing their first two matches at home they have won five, beating Liverpool, City and Newcastle, whilst drawing just once. Leicester have just two points from their last eleven and have lost six straight away matches.

 

Wolfsburg v Koln – home win.

Both teams did for us last week but I’m sticking with Die Wölfe to take all three points. What I said last week about Wolfsburg still rings true, strong at home, undefeated and playing well. Koln were battered for most parts against Schalke but somehow came away with the win, they won’t be as lucky this time around.

 

Villarreal v Deportivo La Coruna – home win.

Villarreal are hitting form winning their last four straight and they inflicted Atletico’s first home defeat of the season last weekend.  Deportivo struggle on the road, winning none of their last five and have scored just four goals from their seven away fixtures.

 

Sampdoria v Udinese – home win.

I’m confused as to how Sampdoria are evens for this match given the form of the two teams. In recent weeks Samp has played Napoli, AC Milan, Fiorentina and Roma at home and went through those four matches undefeated. They are only one of three teams yet to lose a home game (the others being Juve and Roma) and play an Udinese side that have taken just seven from 21 points on the road. They have lost four of their last five away fixtures; the one they manage to win was against a mediocre Inter side. I shan’t complain but take advantage of the bookies price.
