Group A Predictions & Betting Tips – Euro 2016
Group A of Euro 2016 is made up of France, Albania, Romania and Switzerland and the hosts will be expecting an easy progression to the last 16.
France will be happy with the draw for Euro 2016, but there are two places available in the last 16 plus the four best third placed teams.
Euro 2016 Group A: France
The hosts have one of the best squads going into this year’s European Championships and are second favourites to win Euro 2016. The likes of Martial, Pogba, Varane and Grezmann could really light up the tournament for the hosts.
Euro 2016 Group A: Albania
This will be Albania’s first appearance at a major tournament and they look the weakest of the four teams in Group A. They are capable of an upset though, as illustrated when beating Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in qualifying.
Euro 2016 Group A: Romania
Romania only conceded two goals in the qualifying campaign and the opening night France vs Romania Euro 2016 fixture could be very frustrating for the hosts. Romania are generally involved in low scoring matches and could scrap their way through this group.
Euro 2016 Group A: Switzerland
One of the most exciting young squads at Euro 2016 come from Switzerland. The likes of Lichsteiner, Shaqiri and Mehmedi provide attacking width and if they can break down the defensive Romania and tricky Albania they can chase France home in second place.
