Euro 2016 Group E Preview and Predictions for Italy

With the first game of Euro 2016 about to kick-off in just under a month’s time, we’ve decided to take a closer look at what Group E really has to offer among the upcoming competition this summer, starting off with the traditionally successful international outfit that is the Azzurri of Italy…

 

Chances of success:

Even though the Italians do in-fact represent something close to wounded beasts upon the international scene right in the here and now, especially after a less than successful stint in Brazil two summers ago, Antonio Conte’s team seemingly can’t be counted out until the fat lady sings at Euro 2016 this summer.

The future Chelsea manager will surely want to impress his upcoming bosses at Stamford Bridge by igniting some renewed fortunes with Italy at Euro 2016, regardless of the Azzurri’s relatively recent lack of influence in major international tournaments.

His most recent spell with Juventus should still resonate well within the Italian national set-up, especially as Conte is often credited for employing somewhat of an attacking approach in daring situations.

Roman Abramovich clearly doesn’t select just anyone for the job at Stamford Bridge with all things fairly considered of course – so even though Italy don’t quite represent out-in-out tournament favourites in the cold light of day – expect big things from Antonio Conte’s passionate nature one way or another this summer.

Whilst the likes of Germany, France and Spain will likely go down as the three most promising outfits on offer at Euro 2016 this summer, Italy certainly can’t be discounted at this particularly early stage in the proceedings.
