In general it’s a good idea to have an away team defender on your side when looking at the man of the match market, and Grant Hanley looks a great bet at 40/1.  The more consistent of the two Rovers centre backs Hanley is fast maturing into a very good defender and looks overpriced.

Another standout price is that of Derby’s captain and last seasons Player of the Year Richard Keogh at 10/1 (was 33/1). I expected the Republic of Ireland international to be around the 16/1 mark due to his leadership qualities, something that is essential in this market, but at over double that price he is worth a bet.

Derby have an array of talent capable of snatching the award, with Jeff Hendrick, Chris Martin and Will Hughes impossible to rule out. The spotlight will be on the latter after being touted as a future England international, but it remains to be seen whether the youngster will take it up a level.
