The Premier League new boys will hope to travel to Stamford Bridge and get back to back wins and more crucially six points from six after last weekend’s fantastic win against Liverpool.

Chelsea vs Burnley Preview

 

Chelsea are in very good form at the moment with five straight victories to their name in all competitions including their first two league games which means they have as many points as possible in the very early stages of this season. Mid-week they were taken close in the League Cup but managed to end up walking away with a 3-2 win over Bristol. The Chelsea starting line-up will get back to full strength this weekend and will do everything possible to take all three points here.

 

Burnley gained promotion to the League this year after lifting the winners trophy in the Championship, they are already finding life in the Premier League a lot more difficult but it’s an opportunity the players to show how good they can be and possibly force through a transfer when the next window opens. They haven’t had the best start win a loss against Swansea but a surprise victory against Liverpool will help boost confidence but next time they find themselves against a team like Liverpool with less than 20% possession they are more likely to find themselves five or six down.

Chelsea are obviously favourites with the bookies in the latest Chelsea v Burnley odds and the reasons behind that are very understandable. I am in complete agreement with them here especially if Chelsea play half as well as Liverpool I can’t see Burnley getting so lucky this time around. I am going to go with my instinct on a Chelsea domination here for my Premier League prediction, especially with them playing at home. Looking back in their last fixture Watford did do well to control Chelsea until the final ten minutes when they managed to break through. Burnley are going to go at Chelsea here, tiredness may creep in as they struggle to keep up with the Premier League pace for 90 minutes which can cause gaps.
