Tonight’s Champions League fixtures have thrown up some mouth-watering ties, not least Liverpool hosting the might of Real Madrid. However Liverpool are at home and need a result, so this is a match that is too close to call and reluctantly they have been left out of Wednesday’s Champions League treble.

Atletico Madrid (-1 handicap) to beat Malmo:

The first team to make the treble is Real Madrid’s domestic rivals Atletico Madrid who host Swedish side Malmo FF at the Vicente Calderon stadium in Group A and we’re backing them to win by two goals or more. All the teams in Group A are on level points but Atletico Madrid along with Juventus look to be the favourites to make it out of the group. Atletico Madrid with their new front pairing of Mandzukic and Griezmann should be too strong for Malmo FF and so they are the first team to go into the treble.

Arsenal to beat Anderlecht:

Arsenal are the second team to go into Wednesday’s Champions League treble as they make the trip to Belgian side Anderlecht. Though the tie could be a tight affair, Arsenal’s pedigree in the competition should see them sneak the win. Arsene Wenger’s side have started the group stages with a loss against Borussia Dortmund but bounced back with an impressive performance against Turkish side Galatasaray. A win against Anderlecht in Brussels should go a long way to securing their passage into the next phase of the competition. Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from their shaky domestic form and Welbeck will be looking to get back amongst the goals and impress in an Arsenal win.

Borussia Dortmund to beat Galatasaray:

The third team to join the treble is not so straight forward and there are a number of tight affairs that could go either way. In Group C Monaco host pointless Benfica which could be an alternative to any of the ties mentioned in the treble, but it is Arsenal’s fellow Group D participants Borussia Dortmund who travel to the Turkish capital Istanbul to face Galatasary who make up Wednesday’s Champions League treble.

Jurgan Klopp’s Dortmund are having a wobble in their domestic league and have been heavily criticised by Klopp himself this week. Klopp will be hoping his criticism will spark a reaction and Galatasary could be the team to feel the force of a wounded Dortmund side. Their Champions League form has been impressive with wins against Arsenal and Anderlecht without conceding and they should hold no fears going into the cauldron that is Istanbul.
