Brazil 2014: To Be In The England Squad Betting Tips

An interesting market which has emerged in recent months is which England players will be going to the World Cup. With so much of the season left there is loads of value to be have and we will talk you through some of the best value.

Some players such as Joe Hart (1/33) are understandably a very short price but with 23 spots in the squad, there are plenty of spots up for grabs.

Our first pick, is Southampton’s Adam Lallana who is available at 6/1 with SkyBet. This seems like a huge price. Southampton are riding high in the table with Lallana central to that. He has just been called up for the friendlies against Chile and Germany and Hodgson has no problem picking form players from less fashionable clubs. With the likes of Cleverely out of form and Wilishere injury prone and Gerrard and Lampard’s age always an issue, there are plenty of spots in midfield. Lallana seems to only be growing and he would offer England something different. The price seems far too big on a hugely talented player.

The next price we like is on Fraser Forster. He is just under evens at 10/11 with BetVictor. Forster is quite clearly Hodgson’s number two. Ruddy, Foster, Green and the rest are far too inconsistent and Hodgson has now said that he will play some part in the two upcoming friendlies. He has now been included in five consecutive squads and he may still be behind Joe Hart but his Champions League experience has got him right in Hodgson’s mind and the Celtic man seems a sure thing to get on the plane.

Our final selection is also a Southampton player and this time its Ricky Lambert who is 9/4 with Coral. Lambert has been in the last few squads now and seems to be the go to guy for a big centre forward. Holt now plays in the second tier, Carroll has injury problems so it seems a sure thing Lambert will go to Brazil. He seems key when England want to mix it up. With this in mind, it seems a sure thing he will go to Brazil and the price here is far too big.
