Everton are on quite an unbelievable unbeaten run of late and haven’t lost in eight. They have won their last two at home, scoring eight goals in the process. Blackburn to beat Sheffield Wednesday 5/6:

The first of our Championship selections comes from Ewood Park. Blackburn have hit form at the perfect time and find themselves just four points outside the Play-Offs. Rovers have lost just one of their last six and have won their last two. Home form has been good all season with just two defeats and three wins in their last four. They take on a Sheffield Wednesday side still marooned in the bottom three and with five defeats in their last seven. They picked up their first win on the road this season last time out against also struggling Watford but against a Blackburn side on the up should be beaten.

Derby to beat Huddersfield 23/20:

Derby’s recent form has seen them come within just two points of an automatic promotion spot. Steve McClaren’s men have won seven consecutive matches and their last three on the road. Huddersfield have been frustratingly inconsistent, after winning three in a row recently, they are now on a run of three games without a win. They’ve won just two of their last six at home and Derby will want to carry on their winning run.

Wigan to beat Birmingham 5/6:

The sacking of manager’s so far this season has come in for a lot of criticism but so far for Wigan, it has worked. Since Uwe Rosler replaced Owen Coyle they have won both of their matches. They followed up a good win over Bolton with a win against Reading and they will now have the play-offs in their sights. They take on a Birmingham side unbeaten in seven who are also moving up the league. However, they have drawn four of these and with the Rosler effect in full force at the DW I expect Wigan to win.

Burton to beat Northampton 10/11:

Finally, to League 2. Burton are looking for consecutive Play-Off finishes and are in some good form. They are unbeaten in their last five and at the Pirelli they have lost just one of their last five matches. Northampton dispatched of Aidy Boothroyd at the weekend and their season has been a disaster so far as they sit bottom. They’ve won just one of their last five and haven’t won in six away from home. It shouldn’t be a very merry Christmas for Northampton as they face a Burton side looking for promotion again.
