A packed league schedule this Saturday throws up many interesting encounters. Here is this weeks both teams to score betting tip with a potential win of around 12/1 with Ladbrokes Goal Rush.
Leicester City Vs Crystal Palace @ 8/13
Leicester City will be looking to maintain their position at the top of the Championship this weekend by claiming three points against an in form Crystal Palace. The Foxes have scored in every game they have played this season finding the back of the net a total of nineteen times. It is also worth noting that Nigel Pearson’s side have only failed to score twice in their last twenty games at the King Power Stadium.
Much like their opponents, Crystal Palace have also scored in all of their games this season, grabbing an impressive twenty-one goals from their opening twelve fixtures in the Championship. Impressive away victories against Wolves and Bolton in recent weeks convey the Eagles ability away from Selhurst Park, and with Palace only failing to find the net in three of their last twenty away games goals look likely.
Over the last two seasons only one clean sheet has been kept in this fixture with three of those games containing three or more goals.
Cardiff City Vs Burnley @ 4/6
Second place Cardiff take on managerless Burnley this Saturday in what has proven to be a tasty encounter in recent seasons. The Bluebirds have scored in their last ten games in the Championship with nine of their twelve games this season containing three or more goals. It is also worth noting that in their last ten home games Malky Mackay’s side have scored a total of seventeen times, proving that home form is key when chasing promotion.
Sitting in a lacklustre fourteenth position is Burnley despite only losing one of their last six league games. Goals have not proved to be a problem for the Clarets who are the top scoring team in the Championship having fired home a remarkable twenty-six times in just twelve games. Nine goals in their last three away games makes Burnley a side not to be underestimated and they are sure to prove a test for Cardiff this weekend.
There has only been one occasion in the last eight meetings between the two sides where a clean sheet was kept.
Stevenage Vs Swindon Town @ 4/6
High-flying Stevenage will be looking to maintain their position in the second automatic promotion place with a win in Saturday’s encounter with Swindon. Gary Smith’s side have been prolific in front of goals so far, scoring in thirteen of their fourteen fixtures and it is also worth noting that the Boro have only failed to score twice in their last twenty home games. Despite this, Stevenage has had problems at the back, conceding goals in 86% of their games at Broadhall Way since August.
Swindon sit just outside the play-off places in League One with only one win their last five games. Paolo Di Canio’s side have found the back of the net in 86% of their away games this season and will undoubtedly be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Crewe on Tuesday. Half of Swindon’s games since August have contained three or more goals and it is fair to expect more at the weekend.
The two sides have only met twice in recent years, once in the JPT that saw Stevenage claim a 2-0 victory and the other time in the F.A Cup Third Round back in 1998 where a Swindon side in the old Division One suffered an embarrassing 2-1 defeat at the hands of non-league Stevenage Borough.
Tranmere Rovers Vs Preston North End @ 4/6
Top of the table Tranmere welcome Preston to Prenton Park this weekend in the hope of returning to winning ways after suffering two consecutive defeats. Despite this lull in form, Rovers have managed to score in all but one of their fourteen games this season and have scored an average of more than two goals a game at home. Never the less, Ronnie Moore’s side have conceded seven goals in their last three matches so expect the ball to be in the back of the net on Saturday.
The inconsistent form of Preston has left them in eigth place in League One with only one win in their last four games. The Lillywhites have netted an impressive twenty-four times this season that has helped them to establish a record of scoring in 86% of their away games. It is also worth noting that Graham Westley’s side have conceded in all of their away games since the start of the season and 75% of their matches have finished with three or more goals being scored.
Tranmere and Preston have only met twice in the league in recent years, once at Prenton Park and once at Deepdale, with the home team emerging 2-1 victors on both occasions.
Burton Albion Vs Bradford City @ 4/6
Sitting in tenth position in League Two is Burton Albion after suffering only one defeat in their last games. Gary Rowett’s side have only failed to score in one of their fixtures in the beginning of September and, at home, have a goals scored per match average of 2.57 compared with the league average of 1.55. In spite of this good goal scoring form, Burton have been below par at the back, conceding in 86% of their home matches and shipping four goals against Gillingham and three against Northampton in recent weeks.
After two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six games, Bradford City find themselves in fifth position in League Two. The Bantams have only failed to score in two of their away matches this season and have netted an impressive twenty-four times since August. Away from Valley Parade, Mark Lawn’s side have conceded an average of almost two goals per game contributing to their goals against column presenting a figure of seventeen.
There has only been one clean sheet kept in the last six fixtures between Burton and Bradford with five of those games ending in score draws.
