Both Teams to Score League Cup Betting Tips this Week

Football tips for a League Cup both teams to score accumulator coupon on Tuesday 22nd September from our expert football tipster.

It’s the return of the League Cup and on Tuesday some big names enter the fray! This competition is rarely a top priority for Premier League sides so you can expect a few upsets as well as a massive amount of goals!

Football Tips – Both Teams to Score 4-Fold

Middlesbrough v Wolves – BTTS YES

The early rounds of the League Cup usually sees teams ditch the standard tactics deployed in the League and youth players are usually given a run out to show the manager what they can do. Middlesbrough and Wolves will no doubt each give a couple of their fringe players run outs, and given both team’s form, goals are highly likely in the clash. 6 out of Wolves’ last 8 games have ended with both teams scoring, and likewise in 4 out of Boro’s last 6.

Wolves may be languishing in 18th place in the Championship, but they are getting on the score sheet more often than not.  Boro are riding high in 2nd place and will have confidence going into the game. Wolves’ players know that a win against the in-form Boro would give them the confidence needed to maintain a fight back in the League. Expect BTTS in this one.

Sunderland v Man City – BTTS YES

I know what you’re thinking, Sunderland are terrible. Yes they are. They didn’t score against Bournemouth on Saturday, and they are currently sitting rock bottom of the Premier League. However, they played out a ridiculous 6-3 win over Exeter City in the last round of the League Cup, and although Man City are top of the League, Pellegrini’s team lost for the first time on Saturday. City will no doubt field an abundance of youngsters and the home crowd will be urging their team on to grab a famous win over City to progress into the next round. The win would boost Sunderland’s confidence no end, and I can really see them going all out for it. City haven’t failed to score this season and it would be a miracle if Sunderland keep them out. I fancy this as a BTTS for my football tip .

Fulham v Stoke – BTTS YES

Mark Hughes has brought in some real talent to the Potteries, but as yet they haven’t fired on all of their available cylinders. Ibrahim Affellay and Xherdan Shaqiri have shown brief glimpses of their obvious talent, but nothing of the sort that brought them fame and fortune at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, respectively. Stoke sit third bottom and really need to score a few goals to give them some confidence. They led 2-0 at Leicester on Saturday but ended up conceding 2 and went away with just a point.

Fulham aren’t doing particularly well either at the moment, and they currently sit 16th in the League with 8 points from 7. However, both teams have scored in the London club’s last 9 games and I have reason to believe that this will continue when they face Stoke.

Mark Hughes’ side have only scored 5 goals from their 6 Premier League games, but you’d have to fancy them against a defence as shaky as Fulham’s. I fancy BTTS in West London as well.

Preston v Bournemouth – BTTS YES

After a 2-0 win over Sunderland at the weekend, Bournemouth are up to 14th in the Premiership and look a match for any team that they come up against. After a slow start to the campaign, Eddie Howe’s boys have found their shooting boots and are looking a real force in front of goal.

Preston are not fairing nearly as well since their promotion to The Championship. They sit in 22nd in the League and haven’t won since the 15th August. However, despite their losses, Preston have been finding the net and have notched in their last 3 League games, albeit gaining just 1 point along the way.

Eddie Howe will probably opt to field a few youngsters for this League Cup encounter and I think the teams will be well matched with eachother. I think that Preston will see this as a chance to shake off their rustiness and give themselves some confidence ahead of a gruelling League campaign where staying up will be their number 1 priority. I think both teams will score in this one.
