Saturday sees fixtures in England’s top two divisions and the return of the oldest association football competition in the world with teams up and down the country battling it out for a place in the FA Cup second round. Here is this weeks both teams to score betting tip with a potential win of around 11/1 with Ladbrokes Goal Rush.

Sheffield Wednesday Vs Peterborough United @ 8/13

Lingering in the relegation places in the Championship is something Sheffield Wednesday fans will remember all too well from past seasons but Dave Jones’ side will be looking to raise spirits with a win this weekend. The Owls have managed to score in all but one their games at Hillsborough, averaging a goal and half per game and two thirds of the games there have contained three or more goals, with a leaky Wednesday defence conceding a total of twenty-three goals already this season.

Four wins in their last six games has lifted Peterborough off the foot of the table to above Wednesday only on goal difference with both teams on twelve points. The Posh have won their last two victories in Yorkshire with impressive victories over Hull City and Barnsley in recent weeks. Despite recent impressive form, Darren Ferguson’s side have conceded 10 goals in away games since August.

There has not been a clean sheet kept in the last six games between these sides with two fixtures in 2011 throwing up a total of thirteen goals.

Hull City Vs Barnsley @ 8/11

A recent run of form that saw Hull gain nine points in four games has lifted the tigers in to the final play-off position, one point ahead of Nottingham Forest. The Tigers have been deadly in front of goal at the KC Stadium this season, finding the net a total of thirteen times in six games. The last time Steve Bruce’s side failed to score at home was back in March although it is worth noting that Hull have conceded an average of a goal a game in their last twenty matches at the KC.

The recent away form of Barnsley has been more impressive than their form at Oakwell with the Tykes scoring in all but one of their games on the road this season. Manager Keith Hill will be looking for an improved performance from his back line with his side shipping four goals against Nottingham Forest last time out. It is also worth noting that over two thirds of Barnsley’s away games end with more than 2.5 goals.

The clubs have met ten times since 2004 with a total of thirty-two goals being scored and only three clean sheets being kept.

Burnley Vs Wolves @ 1/2

Sean Dyche was appointed Burnley manager on Tuesday and he will be looking to get his new side off to a flyer by maintaining the Clarets 100% scoring record at Turf More this season. The side have bagged an impressive twenty-six goals since the start of the season, the most in the Championship, but they need to tighten up their defence who have conceded twenty-nine goals, also the most in the Championship.

Wolves are currently sitting one point outside the play-off places in the Championship and will be looking for a win this weekend to boost their promotion chances. Stale Solbakken’s side have scored in all but one of their matches this season and have already claimed victories at Cardiff and Blackburn. It is also worth noting that Wolves have conceded in four of their last five league matches.

Twenty goals have been thrown up in the last seven fixtures between the two sides.

Chesterfield Vs Hartlepool United @ 4/6

This FA Cup fixture throws together Chesterfield, who are languishing in mid-table mediocrity in League Two, and Hartlepool, who are disappointing fans at the bottom of the table in League One. Chesterfield have scored in all of their home league games this season and will undoubtedly see the Cup as an opportunity to kick-start their season for a push up the table. Despite this, it is also worth noting that the Spireites have conceded in all of their home games since August.

Hartlepool have found the back of the net in four of their last five matches away from Victoria Park but their problem has been the rate at which they have been conceding, with their defence being breached eighteen times in just eight away games this season. Hartlepool have not kept a clean sheet away from home since March so expect to see goals in this game.

The last four meetings between Chesterfield and Hartlepool has thrown up thirteen goals with only one clean sheet being kept in those four games.

Morecambe Vs Rochdale @ 8/13

The second FA Cup pick is this time between two League Two sides who will be battling it out for a place in the bag on Sunday’s draw. Morecambe have only failed to score in two of their home fixtures this season and they will be looking for a repeat of the performance that saw them beat Rochdale 2-1 in October. The Shrimps have been suffering from defensive problems recently, shipping a total of twelve goals in just seven games at the Globe Arena.

Rochdale have been in fine form away from Spotland this season finding the back of the net a total of fourteen times in just seven games. Despite scoring in 100% of their away matches, they have also conceded in 100% of their away games with almost 86% of their matches on the road containing three or more goals.

Morecambe and Rochdale have met a total of seven times in recent years with only one clean sheet being kept over those seven matches.
