Our opening selection this weekend features the League Two leaders Plymouth and their trip to Crewe Alexandra. Argyle might have started the season in particularly underwhelming fashion following back to back defeats to Luton and Carlisle, but have since produced a stunning run of form over the last four months to take a fully deserved four point lead at the top of League Two. Plymouth are now unbeaten in their last thirteen straight matches and have only dropped points twice during that period. In addition to this particular statistic, the visitors also have the third highest goals tally in the division and their last four victories in a row have all finished via a BTTS outcome as well. Obviously we could do with the hosts having a bad day at the office in this one, and their recent form doesn’t suggest they will be the toughest opponents Plymouth are likely to face this year. Exeter v Doncaster – Doncaster to win BTTS
The second selection on this Saturday’s coupon takes us to Exeter as they host Doncaster Rovers. Upon first glance this may look a little risky considering we are relying on one away victory already this weekend. However, The Grecians don’t tend to do wins at home, in fact, they don’t really do draws either! Luton Town v Accrington – Luton to win BTTS
Our final choice this weekend takes us to Kenilworth Road as Luton welcome Accrington to town. The Hatters have been pretty tough to beat so far this campaign and are currently in the middle of a seven game run without defeat. Although this has been enough to take them to fourth in the table, Luton could so easily been top by now after failing to capitalise on several opportunities so far this season. Nevertheless, the hosts have comprehensively beaten the likes of Plymouth and Doncaster already this year which proves they are as good as any side in the league when they do actually turn up. Their opposition comes in the form of Accrington, and they haven’t quite managed to hit the heights of last season where they narrowly missed out on automatic promotion. Stanley aren’t in great form at present after only winning once in their last six, but do currently sit in a three-way tie with Doncaster and Luton with a ratio of 73% for BTTS results so far this season. Based on all these facts, this match looks a great contender for both teams scoring, and if Luton are at the races I expect the result to fall their way as well.
