Belarus vs France betting tips and predictions for tonight’s World Cup 2018 qualifying match where France will look to build on their Euro 2016 campaign.
France travel to Minsk for their opening World Cup qualifying game to face Belarus in what could be a potentially tricky tie for the French superstars. Here are some predictions for the game on Tuesday night.
Belarus vs France Preview
Belarus
Belarus have never qualified for a major tournament and probably won’t fancy their chances in this qualification group. Alongside them in Group A is Tuesday’s opponents France, Holland, Sweden, Bulgaria and probable group whipping-boys Luxembourg. This is a tough group for anyone, let alone a squad with no players playing in any of European’s major leagues. The most recognisable player is Sergei Kornilenko who applies his trade in the Russian Premier League and is the second highest scorer in Belarus national team history and is only three goals away from the record. They don’t really have the calibre of players to grace a major tournament but that won’t keep them from trying. They provided tough opponents for Spain in the last qualifying campaign when the former World Champions only won by one goal to nil in Minsk and they recently defeated the Republic of Ireland 2-1 away from home, so this game may not be as straightforward as people think.
France
Many people feel that France were the deserving winners of Euro 2016 with how they performed up until the final, but when they met Portugal in July the pressure of the whole nation got to them and they choked on the final hurdle. However with young superstars like Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane they will be optimistic that they will have more chances in the future to win a major tournament. French boss Didier Deschamps has already said that he is planning for the future and ‘wants to give young players the chance to improve’ and this has meant that there is no place in the squad for veteran full backs Patrice Evra and Bacary Sagna. They got on alright without them on Thursday night when they defeated Italy 3-1 and this victory will give them confidence going into a tricky group. The Manchester United duo of Martial and Pogba combined to give the French the lead on Thursday with a superb goal and I have a feeling that these two could cause the backline of Belarus some problems on Tuesday.
Belarus vs France Predictions
France are obviously strong favourites for this match and with odds of 2/5 with most bookmakers, it’s not going to be a tip that will make you rich. Instead I will look at other markets for this game and the first one I will go for is the Half-time/Full-time market. France are 6/5 to be winning at half-time and full-time in this match and I think this is great value for my first Belarus vs France betting tip; France have a lot more quality players and they have been leading at half-time in four of their past five matches and all of these have been against better opposition than Belarus so I will be taking Coral’s 6/5 for France to be winning at Half-time and then full time.

Anytime Goalscorer Tip
My second Belarus vs France prediction is going to be for Paul Pogba to score anytime. He was on dazzling form on Thursday night with two assists and he scored on his last visit to Belarus so I think that Pogba will top off a strong international break with a goal and the best odds for this are 3/1 at Bet365.
