Manchester United continue their tour of the United States on Saturday evening as they face a daunting tie against Champions League holders Barcelona. The match kicks off at 9pm, so here are our football tips and predictions.
Football Predictions – Barcelona v Man United.
Following their narrow 1-0 victory over Club America last week, a new look Manchester United picked up another win against MLS side San Jose a few days ago. Louis van Gaal opted to start with a strong lineup, and both Juan Mata and Memphis Depay scored in quick succession just after the half hour mark. However, following the break LVG made a whole heap of changes – as seems to be the way with friendlies – and United stagnated during a poor second half. The manager was less than complementary about the performance, with new signing Bastian Schweinsteiger particularly singled out for 'having a bad game'.
Opponents Barcelona also head into the clash off the back of a win against another MLS side in the form of LA Galaxy. The match saw a reunion of sorts as Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez faced off on opposing teams, and it was the latter who scored the first of the match with a well-taken finish just before the break. Once again there were wholesale changes for the second half, and the likes of Gerard Pique and Andeas Iniesta were given a run out as Barcelona coasted to victory – albeit via an unflattering 2-1 score line.

If this match were in the Champions League, then you would be predicting the Catalan side to win every time. However, with the Saturday's game being a friendly and the fact both Lionel Messi and Neymar are unavailable, United may well have a sniff of picking up a result.
With this in mind, the draw holds some decent value at 11/4 with Sky Bet for my first Barcelona v Manchester United prediction.
Moving over to the goalscoring market and there's certainly some excellent odds available on some first goal scorers due to the plethora of attacking talent on show. Luis Suarez is superbly priced at 11/2 to score first, and has to be backed at those odds.

Finally for a potential longshot football tip, and judging by the changes made at half-time by LVG in his last two matches, the Dutchman certainly favours starting the game with a stronger team than he finishes.
